My Lovely Samsoon

When I started watching this drama I just want to stop it, her character got in my nerves pretty soon and then I realized that it was the goal of the writer. I decided to keep watching and I don't regret it. This is very funny ,cute and Romantic comedy. The lead actress is one of the best in Korea and he is wonderful too. All the characters in General are very funny , something excited happens in every single episode.
The only thing I don't like about Korean dramas is the fashion, why the guys have to dress like clowns all the time??
Anyway , this show is super good and i highly recommended.

This was the first Kdrama I watched years ago. I must say, it still is my favorite. The characters are very original and Sam Soon is laugh out loud funny. She has a personality all her own. She's not your usual skinny, gorgeous, fake girl next door character. She's actually very normal and that's what I loved about her. This is a fun show that will keep you at your computer. Lots of humor and lots of betrayal and tears. Even if you don't like Kdrama give it a chance. I know it changed my view on Kdrama for life. Enjoy!

This is the first Korean series that I've watched. Honestly speaking really hate korean drama/songs before. but my life has completely changed after watching this series.i even download its OST and became a fan of Kim sun ah and hyun bin:) this series was really portraying the reality for woman's out there who are in their late 20's or 30 in exact. i really enjoyed watching this series and its my favorite. I love how the series taught us how to fight for the one you love. you must really watch this series if you want to know the real meaning of love:)

What I don't like about this drama as well as some of the 'modern' time Korean dramas is that they romantize violent behavior and controlling personalities. This would include a glass picture being punched next to a girls head to make a point, a girl being slapped by a male, items being thrown around, yelling, and other controlling ways.

The girl is often the butt of fat jokes and she is self concious. She has a wavering personality. One minute she is a strong character that knows what she wants and will do what she has to while other times she's crying and becoming very clingy. They did an excellent job of making her annoying, but at the same time a character that you want to succeed.

2 of the characters constantly speak in English while one does on occassion. It's a little annoying as the acting isn't that great when they're doing this. My acting rating goes down a bit for this reason.

I was right! Hyun Bin (lead) is the same guy as in Secret Garden...even wears one of those awful track suits in Samsoon as in Secret Garden...anyway, he's funny in both.

Yeah! for how adults actually behave in romantic situations
Yeah! for one of the funniest situations ever (it involves the toilet and no paper!) the cockroach in the shirt was pretty good too!
Yeah! for super hot guys (Henry Kim = YUM)
Yeah! for a believable body type
Yeah! for a happy ending (as you know this doesn't always happen in Korean Dramas)
Yeah! for good music I really liked the opening theme and then all the old music as background

Boo, for 3 unresolved love affairs...left too many characters outcomes up in the air...

Overall it was one of the funniest dramas I've watched in a long time...even though Crunchyroll doesn't carry it...be sure to watch Secret Garden with Hyun Bin...the scene involving going to the bathroom is hilarious!

Finally decided to watch this drama after seeing it on so many favorites lists online. I definitely wasn't disappointed.

I had watched Kim Sun Ah in City Hall before I turned to this series. I absolutely loved her in City Hall, so I thought it was only appropriate for me to see her in her breakthrough series. I can see why she received such accolades for her role as Kim Sam Soon! There are many parallels and similarities between her character here as Kim San Soon and her character as Shin Mi Rae in City Hall. Kim Sun Ah definitely is the star of both series with her incredible acting performances. She kills me her with smart-ass comedy lines!

Overall I felt the plot was quite typical of a K-drama. However, that didn't make it any less entertaining. Aside from Sam Soon, I thoroughly enjoyed the wackiness of her mother and sister. What a violent yet entertaining family of girls! Major kudos to the head chef of Bon Appetit as well. I guess those ten-year-old jeans brought him plenty of luck after all!

It was quite strange to see Na Mun Hee play such a stubborn, cold-hearted mother after having seen her as the goofy, unlucky grandmother in Unstoppable High Kick! before this. Of course, there's nothing lovable about her character in this drama, so it was hard for me to get a grasp of her.

16 episodes was definitely adequate for this series. Some dramas really drag on and on after 20 episodes, so this was just right in series length. It wouldn't be necessary to go beyond the ending in the final episode.

A funny, awesome, and non-dramatic sometimes! I enjoyed every episode and, admitting it, I got a bit obsessed with... I stayed up 'till early dawn just watching episode after episode, literally until I passed out because I was too sleep-deprived. Overall, I loved all of the characters and the storyline was good. I recommend it for people who just want a funny and entertaining drama to have some laughs and sometimes get a bit sad. But it's all in good beliefs. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Before anything, I have to point out that I don't know how I am still alive and didn't choke laughing. This is probably the FUNNIEST tv show I've seen in my life. 16 episodes, 16 hours I was laughing with Sam Soon's situations...

"My Lovely Sam Soon" follows the life of Kim Sam Soon, a woman who's on her early 30's, isn't particularly pretty, and is overweight. She compensates with her witty sense of humor, dry smartness, and bakery skills. After being dumped by her boyfriend she starts working at a restaurant and her boss, Jin-Heon, offers to pay her $50,000 to "contract date" so he won't have to go to any more blind dates. As time passes by, she eventually falls in love with him, and even though initially he gets back to his former girlfriend(who returns from USA after surgery), he ends up realizing he loves Sam Soon.

What makes "Sam Soon" so good is the fact that the characters are very real. Kim Suna is AMAZING as Sam Soon and I felt completely identified with her: the not-so-young woman who's still young, who isn't too pretty and her smartness is more of a torture than a virtue. She is desperate to love yet she knows how to respect herself and not make a fool out of herself. Like Jin-heon said many times, "she knows where she stands". She is optimistic without being unreal, and is strong and weak when is needed. Jin-heon on the other side is cold, introverted and stoic, a consequence of a tragic event in his past. He can't stand Sam Soon at the beginning, but as they move on, he starts opening and shows a different side of him. I liked the fact that even though he becomes more open, he doesn't necessarily changes himself, he remains arrogant and cocky but bearable enough for Sam Soon to love him.

At first the love story in the series is a bit hard to swallow because of the attitude shown between each other. After seeing a rough Sam Soon despising her boss it's weird seeing her all over him while he pretty much doesn't care. But that's what makes the series more realistic: when you fall in love, you just do. There's no way to choose who to love, whether it's a person who treats us good or bad, the heart always has the last word. But this being a romantic drama, you know she'll win him over and live happily ever after. Or at least in "My Lovely Sam Soon", will live the day like it's the last one, and will put the past behind and the future away and will only worry about the present(which was good, cause it didn't end in the cliched wedding!!)

Other characters in the series are Sam Soon's sister and mom, which are fiery and wild and overtly protective of their little girl; Jin-Heon's mom and niece; Jin Heon's former girlfriend Hee-Jin and her friend and doctor, uber handsome Henry, who happens to be in love with her and has some of the funniest scenes in the series with Sam Soon's alter ego, Sophie.

Overall this is a series everyone who loves Kdrama should watch. It's real inside it's own fantasy, it's funny beyond words, and was written to perfection(conversations here are strong, not the usual chit chat). Completely recommended!!
