My Ordinary Life

What would you get if you watched Lucky Star and Pani Poni dash at the same time. Well, first you would get a headache, but then you might get an experience similar to Ordinary life. I knew from the PV that this would be something to keep my eye on, and sure enough.

Like Lucky Star, Ordinary Life doesn't really have a story. It more a collection of random scenes that take place in its universe.

The animation is all that great except for a single scene involving a hot dog.

The Characters are enjoyable. Most of them are archetypes, but it works for this setting.

If your into Pani Poni Dash, Lucky Star, Azumanga Diaoh, or even BoBoBo-Bo-Bo-BoBo, You will enjoy this series.

Sorry, normally these are longer but there isn't much to say about this one, OP was pretty good though. I may have to re listen to that.

I absolutely love this show, to me it feels like something that I didn't know I has looking for. Many people compare it to Azumanga Daioh, Lucky Star, and other similar shows, and the similarities are there. However, none of those shows capture the true wackiness of My Ordinary Life.
If I were to describe this as a combination of other shows, I would call My Ordinary Life a cross between Azumanga Daioh and Cromartie High School. While Cromartie High School is a show about delinquents, it has the same level of pure absurdity that appears in My Ordinary Life.
In order to enjoy this show, you really need to be able to enjoy insanity. Do not expect plot or substance, and do not expect things to make sense. My Ordinary Life is cuteness plus insanity. Plus more insanity. And more. Just keep on adding insanity until you can't add any more. Then add on some more insanity. Now you have My Ordinary Life.

I was turned on to the manga by Nokoka and even the manga was funny enough, but I find that the most impact on me is from the anime. The colors are not the most vivid but the show's humor and ongoing theme is more than enough to make up for the use of pastels. The characters are well developed and their personalities play off of each other perfectly. Mai seems to be very serious as she doesn't seem to work at the same energy level as everyone else. She likes to read and play mind games with the more simple minded Yuko. Yuko is the really high energy somewhat simple minded girl. Yuko does not do her own homework and copies whenever she can and that's usually from Mai or Mio. Yuko is somewhat slow and seems to have ADHD and her slowness to catch on typically makes her especially susceptible to Mai's mind games. Mio is the most normal of the group she is smart, but it's unknown if she's in Mai's league. Mio has a crush on a boy in school who (for whatever reason) believes being firstborn makes him born of privilege, and rides a goat to school as his steed. Mio is not ready to confess to him, but she doodles and faints when thinking about him and those activities are usually over the top. In short I love this show and hope it gets more than a typical 12 episode season.

Nichijou (日常 Nichijō?, lit. Regular Life), or know as "My Ordinary Life" in English. This is a anime adaption based on manga written by Keiichi Arawi first published in 2006 by "Kodokawa Shoten" in their manga magazine "Shonen Ace". The manga is a simple 4 panel comic like Azumanga Daioh or Lucky Star so you can already guess what the anime is going to be like, yep a slice of life/comedy anime which is something that I love. An ova was released for this anime march 12, 2011 a month prior to the anime t.v. series airing.

Now this something that is really hard to review not due the fact the show is bad it is due to the fact this show has a huge barrier of entry. Okay now follow me on this one this show is a Japanese comedy with jokes and humor that some people like me are going to love or some others will just hate. Due to this fact I will be giving this show 2 scores in order to represents where I/the fans stand and where mainstream fans stand so do not rate me down because of that. Yeah I know this might confuse some you but I just feel like it's the right thing to do due to fact this show is either a hit or miss with people.

With all of that said/aside time to get to the main point. I am doing a review for this show on the half way mark due to the fact that it is a comedy/slice of life anime which means not much is going to change plot wise from this point onward. How can I describe the story to you.. well that's the only flaw there is and believe I love random shows "I own all of shin-chan after all" but this is just hard to do. My summary is this for the main plot of the, it focuses on a group 3 high school girl freshmen by the names of Mai Minakami, Mio Naganohara and, Yūko Aioi who have the biggest personality differences between anyone I have seen in a long time. The only example that comes to mind is Azumanga Daioh, Pani Poni Dash, and Lucky Star.This half deals with the daily antics they get into with each other such as Mai purposely doing things to mislead Yuko and make her do things that she wouldn't normally do

Okay now on to the other half which is about a young 5 year old "Professor, her robot caretaker "Nano" with there talking male cat "Sakamoto-san" who just show off more crazy/bizarre routines but what makes it so interesting is the fact that the professor actually acts like a real little girl instead of an grown up character.There are other characters that I will mention as well, like a junior named Kōjirō Sasahara "who has a fascination with riding his goat to school", Misato Tachibana " she has an weapon arsenal that could make the NRA jealous and keeps Sasahara in check." and my favorite random character Tsuyoshi Nakanojō "who has the best animated Mohawk ever and it's known why due to fact his hair doesn't grow on the sides..WTF?"

That's I can really say for the story to be honest with you. It just a random collection of scenes with running gags put together that seem to work flawlessly for me. The only real life show I can compare this to is "Seinfeld" so if you liked that show you will love this anime. Okay now onto a high point for the series which is the animation. Everything is clean, clear and crisp in-turn makes everything just nice to look at. As I just stated above the hair animated in this show is probably some of the best rendered hair that I have ever seen, but this aside ever character has a vibe and feel have a lot character to them to a level where a point some can identify with them on some level or another.

Okay now my favorite part of this anime is the music which I absolutely love. Yeah that's being hugely biased on my part but I don't give a shit. What surprises me even more is the fact that "Hyadain" a well know flash musician that has made videos from old games like Final Fantasy IV or Super Mario Bros Did the OP for the show called "The O-o-o-o☆one-sided Love of Hyadain - C"". It seems that his music has had such a hit with mainstream people it caught on enough for him to do a record deal. That's all well/good but rest of the music is also what makes the series just plain enjoyable to watch from the high funny piano music to the low key soft music that could help anyone some fall asleep such as the ED which is funnily named "Zzz". I do know one thing I will be buying this soundtrack when it does come out.

Overall as a series this is just a fun anime to watch to mellow out if your having a bad day. Now there is a hit or miss for a few people and even some episodes for some. If you love this sorta show I highly recommend that you watch it but if the barrier is to hard for you to get through just don't I do not want you watch something you will not like. That's all I can really say for the show nothing major happens no plot to destroy the world or ground breaking material here. That's all I have to say on this so bite me if you hate my scores

I really love this anime and came across it by chance. I wanted to see something funny and thought I'd give it a shot. The storyline is a bit hard to follow since it's so random but if you treat it as being random and enjoy it for what it is, it's quite entertaining. I thought the characters have great personality and that is part of why they are so funny at times. The music is catchy and the introduction is great in my opinion.

Sometimes some of the things they say or do make no sense but I found it funny all the same and there are also moments where you just want to say wtf haha! The only thing that I found a bit odd was how the characters were drawn, I didn't like how they said they were in high school but they are drawn to look as if they are in middle-school. But other than that, this anime is nearly perfect!

I would totally recommend it to anyone who wants to watch something funny and slice-of-life in a school setting.

I have been reserving judgement on this show since it was first released.
now that the second intro has debuted, I am glad I did. Nichijou starts out slow and has a few dead spots but once it starts going the rocket never stops. The first half of the series spans episodes 1 to 13. the second intro begins at episode 14. What we have here, is that the first half introduces the characters and their life styles and the second half ties up the loose ends.

There are two main protagonists, Yukko, the dumb school girl and Nano, the maid robot. The series appears to be split between two different story lines and some may find it frustrating since there is no focus on one story and it all becomes haphazard like a typical 4koma comic. But here is where the beauty lies, Nano comes to school in the second half of the series. Finally, all the characters are now connected. Beyond this, there are so many other unique characters in their lives that it is mind boggling.

In regards to characters and animation, the show is visually appealing in the highest regard. Quality oozes from the drawings. Both intros are amazing and vibrant. The music is great as well. I love all the characters. Although I should point out at first I was not happy with Nano and the professor since it detracted from the main story, but now it makes sense. If you put this show down during the first four episodes, now is the perfect time to give it another look.

i have always been a fan of comedy but even more of a fan of random outrageous comedy but heres the thing there are no tv shows out there that has alot of that kind of humor but my best friend thats more into anime then i am showed me a clip of this show and since then ive been hooked watch number 6 or 10 just for starters and the best part is that u dont really have to watch 1-14 u can watch any of them right now cuz it almost resets each time
