Has Been One Of My Favorite Series Yet
When I first started watching Natsume Yujin-cho, I was surprised at the lack of action in a show that has "monsters" who like to attack a boy who can see them. Over time however, I began to appreciate Natsume for his methods of trying to befriend both humans and youkai. This show has been one of my favorites because it manages to teach good messages while still telling great stories. I'm sad to ...

My Favorite Season of Natsume Yet
"Natsume's Book of Friends" has always been an episodic series, but with likeable enough character to appeal even to a fan who prefers ongoing plots like me.

So maybe it shouldn't surprise me that the fourth season, which has the most multi-episode stories of any of the seasons, is the one I like the most. It's still episodic, but the two- and even three-part stories give them more time to ...

Awesome, in the original sense of the word.
My recommendation is that you watch this show immediately, but if you wish to waste time finding out why you should watch it (You should just watch it. Go!) you can read on.

Natsume presents some of the most beautifully rendered and lovingly crafted stories I've seen. The idea is that there a world beyond what we normally see, filled with youkai which are seen by only a select few. Youkai live ...

    More episodes please!
My kids and I LOVE this series. I mean all my 3 kids. My first grader loves is so much and this has been a motivation factor for her to improve her reading (she has to read the subtitles in order to understand the stories). More episodes please!

Cannot say enough about the cuteness of this show
Shi is the 4th season of Natsume Yujin-Cho. If you haven't yet, go watch the first three, also here on CR.
I cannot say enough about this show. Everything about it is relaxing and adorable and perfect. It's about an orphaned boy who was abused in the past (see the manga, and hints of it in the show) being passed from person to person because no one wanted him. He can see Yukai, or japanese ...

  • Four seasons in and still going strong
There is something very relaxing about Natsume Yujincho. Unusually optimistic (at least compared to some recent series) and very introspective, it seems like slice of life at first glance but is definitely much deeper. The character development, particularly for Natsume, is wonderfully gradual. There is little violence, but when it is included, it serves a good purpose for the story. This was a ...

I love anime again because of this
This is one anime that will touch your heart and restore your faith in humanity (even if it's humanity in anime characters).

It's definitely one of my top 5 favorite animes. Each episode is excellent.

  • Excellent little series.
Do not have much to add.
But this series was good, a true pleasent and praiseworthy series!
Took you through all kinds of emotions, things you forget over time.
It shows some aspects of life, that many will not face eye to eye!
And done so in a great manner...love it!

    Ahh now where to begin...
Natsume has been my dear friend for a few years now. This series is more about personal growth and overcoming your own demons, rather than just a supernatural slice of life. Alot can be learned from this series. If your ready for the emotional journey- to really be immersed in a story-please watch this. You will cry, your heart will ache, but I promise you every episode will leave your mind ...
