  • Hard to believe how good this was.
This anime is for when you need to chill, sit back, relax, have some feels, and occasionally be creeped right the **** out.

The premise isn't hard to understand: Natsume's grandmother used to go around kicking monster tail and taking names. Now he wants to give them back.

Most of the show is about closure. I think this is one of the reasons it does so well, since most animes have ...

  • One of my favorite anime of all time
Wow this was better than I thought it would be. The artwork is so beautiful and the manga is just as good as the anime. I never want this to end its so clam and emotional :') once you watch one episode you get attached to the characters. This is an anime I would re watch over and over again.

  • a review of the show
this show is about the relationship of the protagonist to humans and creatures only people with spiritual power can see. the show focus around his interaction with them. the characterisation is always very good and well paced. I would recommend this to any one who wants to see supernatural show or one about people.

  • Anime with a soul and a depth you don't always find in others.
This anime has me on the verge of tears many times when I watch it. Youma in many other anime titles are at worst strictly evil and inherently bad creatures, and at best shown to be very static and unchanging. Natsume Yujin-cho personifies these youma. They have the qualities and traits of human beings. Natsume explores and helps these youma that were bound to his grandmother for one reason or ...

  • A masterpiece hidden under simplicity!
Natsume Yuujinchou is a wonderful story fulfilled with feelings and special bonds between characters, the story is entertaining with super natural and spiritual details but the real deal comes with the amazing ability it has to make you approach the characteracters in a short time... in the middle of action and drama you have kindness, warm feelings, friendship, mutual comprehension.. you learn to ...

    The acceptance of "Home"
Natsume yujin-cho left a huge impression on me, and everyone i know who's seen it had alluded to being as emotional about it as I have.

I focused in on his alienation during his youth and struggle to find acceptance as a young adult because of his gift. As one of a few motifs running through the story, it lets us explore Natsume Takeshi's childhood and adolescence. He's kicked back and forth ...

  • The best anime in years
This is in every way a 5-star show. Story, pace, tone, art, music: it all adds up into an incredibly satisfying experience. Its themes are complex and subtle, making the fantastic utterly relatable. I cried genuinely (since the storyline is complex, there is a lot of beautiful bittersweetness in the telling) nearly every episode. It's amazing how relaxing it is to watch considering how much ...

  • Interesting, Fun, Deep, Emotional
I really enjoyed this anime. I loved the story. It was different from anything else I had seen up until that point and therefore it really held my attention. The development of the characters is interesting too as it takes its time to tell the story and open you up to the world created. I highly recommend this anime. Give it a try you will enjoy it.

  • really great drama with some comedy mixed in.
I have been reccomending the two seasons of this show to anyone that really liked the mush shi anime, mostly due to the fact that they are both really close in terms of the feel of the story, both share a common issue and they both share the same pace and emotional mood ( with this show having more comedy than mushi shi )
Overall I really liked this one, I flew threw both seasons and still wanted ...
