  • Beautifully masterful
This series, while the animation is gorgeous and the soundtrack pulls you in and allows you to remember it for years to come hits all the points of an amazing anime to me. The story is beautiful and really helps describe the feeling people get when they are truly alone and how to overcome it. The story is brilliant and emotional while the characters grow greatly throughout the series but none more ...

  • Good balance,(info for more episodes in the renamed anime natsume yujin-choshi)
This is in fact one my my most liked anime because it balances the emotion very well. I also love the combat. its not that deep but since the enemies in this anime get more intense by strength, or emotion(such as toying with the characters head). There is also very nice characters to like. I hope you give this anime a chance because i cant stop watching it. If your looking for more episodes after ...

  • Such a unique anime series!
I enjoy watching this series so much! It makes you calm, happy, sad, excited, all at the same time!

I usually watch one or two episodes before bed. I feel like they are the perfect bedtime stories, haha (except for the man-eating youkais).

Anyway, definitely watch this series if you have the chance! It is a nice breather from all the complex anime out there. Such a relaxing and comforting ...

  • A Slow Paced But Great Experience
Natsume Yujin-cho is a four season anime adaptation of the fantasy manga of the same name written by Yuki Midorikawa. This work is known as Midorikawa's most successful work. The anime adaptation was taken by the studio Brains Base, which has made many known series such as Spice and Wolf, and D-Frag. Natsume Yujin-cho follows a boy named Takashi Natsume, who has the ability to see yokai. But ...

  • One of the finest shoujo anime titles ever made
This is shoujo at its finest: great cast, great music, no insults to the intelligence of the viewers, etc. Some truly stunning animation sequences too.

The greatest titles of any genre is tend to not be typical to that genre and this one is no exception. Emotionally engaging, with a dream-like quality at times.

  • It Hit Me in the Feels
I truly enjoyed this anime series. The feels I got from meeting all of the youkai... I think this is a wonderful anime. It's funny, filled with attachment and emotion, and it's different from other shows. It's also a little longer so watching this helped pass the time, especially during winter break. One of my top animes!

  • Relaxing and heartwarming
It's a wonderful journey that author leads us on, filled with interesting characters and beautiful feelings.

There may be a large difference between youkai and humans, but we see how much overlaps as well -- and in that overlap, we see concentrated bits of what personhood is and connections with others.

  • One of the best anime out there
I could not get enough of this anime. The story line, the animation, and the characters are perfect. My hat is off to Yuki Midorikawa for creating such a masterpiece... My Favorite Character is Nyanko-Sensei, a pudgy (Lucky cat) cat on the outside and Madara on the inside (a powerful demon lord). The little fox demon that follows Natsume is just too adorable.. One word can describe this anime and ...

A definite gem worth your time.
On it's surface, this slice of life seems nothing but serene, but with superb character progression and continuously forming relationships, Natsume Yuujinchou presents the hard path one is forced to take to respect two opposing worlds. Much in the spirit of Mushishi, Takashi has a progressing intimacy and bond with creatures that few can see, and others may despise. It's heartwarming and ...

  • Light-Hearted, Light-Humored, Feel-Good Anime
This series was absolutely fantastic. Light-hearted and light-humored, with fun characters and an interesting story. I loved most things about the series, except for a few. There were some underdeveloped characters. questions left unattended to, and a few plot holes left open, but all in all, it was a sort of feel-good story. Addictive.
