Since 2011, Tachikawa, located in western Tokyo Metropolis, has been celebrating its status as the "City of Anime." Generally this means that its Autumn Rakuichi notes its status as the inspiration for the setting of A Certain Magical Index/Scientific Railgun, but this year, the “Certain Municipality’s Area Promotion” got to double up with an appreciation for Gatchaman Crowds, which likewise set its action in the city. After the Tokyo Game Show revealed that Dengeki and Sega will be celebrating the publisher's 20th anniversary with crossover 2D fighting Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, with Asuna fromSword Art Online and Shana from Shakugan no Shana were shown fighting and SAO's Leafa and Wilhelmina from Shakugan no Shana also supporting, Dengeki has posted new shots showing representatives from Oreimo and Certain Magical Index.
A Certain Magical Index/Scientific Railgun ESPer antihero Accelerator is set to star in a "Certain Scientific Accelerator" spin-off manga. Arata Yamaji is attached to the title, set to launch in the February issue of Dengeki Daioh, which goes on sale December 27th. More after the jump.

Ruiko Saten isn't exactly an anime original, but she does receive extra emphasis in the anime version of A Certain Scientific Railgun. Now, the popular support character is set to be captured in a "Pajama de Otomari Saten-san," set to be released by Chara-ani in July. The 17.7cm figure goes for 7,000yen. Get a look after the jump.
FUNimation Entertainment announced that it has acquired the streaming rights to A Certain Scientific Railgun S. This is the second season of A Certain Scientific Railgun, which FUNimation will release on DVD on April 16, 2013. The series will premiere Sunday, April 14th at 11:30am ET and will simulcast Sundays at 11:30am ET/ 10:30am CT. More after the jump.
