It was hyped as an original story, created with series (and Sword Art Online) author Reki Kawahara, and featuring singer/voice actress Chinatsu Akasaki (Re:Zero's Felt, Erased's Airi Katagiri) as original character Risa Tsukiori. It has been confirmed that the first bonus item for the moviegoers of the upcoming film Accel World: Infinite Burst will be an original short novel titled "Accel World -Mugen eno Chouyaku (The Leap to Infinity)-," newly written by the light novel series' original creator Reki Kawahara.
