Back in May, Siliconera reported that Spike Chunsoft was looking for a publishing partner to bring their Attack on Titan Nintendo 3DS game overseas, and went as far as to pitch the idea to Bandai Namco. So, the "yaoi" numeric sequence has become otaku shorthand for the genre of male romance media and, following that logic, in countries that list the date month-day, August 1st is yaoi day! The Attack on Titan-verse continues to expand with today's Japanese release of light novel spin-off The Harsh Mistress of the City. Ryo Kawakami pens the story about Mathias, the son of wealthy merchants and Rita, the daughter of an apothecary. Still not confirmed but more credible is a deleted listing from electronics/multi-media shop Yodobashi Camera that had volume volume 15 of the main manga coming out December 9th with a OVA tieing into the spin-off.
