    "Season to Frenzy" to debut December 17th

    Pioneering manga author Osamu Tezuka used a "Star System," in which his characters were played by "actors" who might appear in multiple works. Yū-Go Ōkuma and Yoshiaki Tabata's prequel Young Black Jack and its anime adaptation are following suit. As the series prepares for December 17th's 12th and final episode, "Season of Frenzy," guest characters have been showcased, including Aoi Yūki and Tatsuhisa Suzuki as student activists.

    "Dororo" character featured episode 9-11 arc

    On the birthday of Osamu "God of Manga" Tezuka

    Tokyo-based healthcare product company Isshindo Honpo has released many face packs collaborating with internationally famous franchises such as KISS, Marvel Super Heroes, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, and Attack on Titan. Its next 16th partners are two of Osamu Tezuka's representative manga works, Tetsuwan Atom/Astro boy and Black Jack. Hit the jump for more.

    Believe it or not, it's now less than a week to the start of October and the fall anime season. One of the earlier launches is the TV anime adaptation of Yū-Go Ōkuma and Yoshiaki Tabata's Young Black Jack manga. The 2011 eight-volume ongoing offers a prequel to Osamu Tezuka's classic medical adventure manga with the titular mercenary surgeon still in medical school, set in the 1960s.
