An early look at the June issue of Nakayoshi, out in Japan on April 30th, has revealed that the new project celebrating the 20th anniversary of CLAMP's Cardcaptor Sakura magic girl series will be a manga, debuting in the shoujo magazine's July issue on June 3rd. The series reintroduces Sakura Kinomoto in her first year of junior high school, launched into a mysterious new affair by a strange dream. Get a look after the jump.
In Japan, March 3rd is Hinamatsuri, or Doll Festival, a tradition in which dolls are dressed up in the attire of the Heian period imperial court and displayed on a tiered, red carpeted platform. Among the anime and manga folks having some fun with the occasion was Shaft, who recollected the Hidarami Sketch Chou Hidamatsuri in Nippon Budokan and CLAMP's Tsubaki (formerly Mick) Nekoi who presented her Empress.
Junko Iwao, voice of Tomoyo Daidouji in the anime adaptation of CLAMP's Cardcaptor Sakura and Kotori Mono in the movie version of their X (also Evangelion's Hikari and the leads in Perfect Blue, Key the Metal Idol, Ceres and Devilman Lady) turns 46 on February 18th. Along with sending their best wishes, the popular manga creation team posted a tribute on their news Twitter account. Get a look after the jump.
