At this weekend's Anime Expo panel, Funimation announced that the anime distributor has acquired the licenses for Drifters, the new anime from Hellsing creator Kouta Hirano and Your Name (Kimi no Na w), the new film from director Makoto Shinkai, which they will be releasing in theaters and on home video. Last October, during MCM Comic Con, Kaze UK announced plans to release Code Geass spin-off OVA Akito the Exiled. A collection of its first two episodes had been listed by retailers for release March 21, 2016 on Blu-ray and DVD. However, as that date approached, with still nothing officially announced, the schedule was pushed back to the far horizon. More after the jump.
"Itoshiki Monotachi e" (To Beloved), the 59-minute final fifth chapter of the Code Geass: Akito the Exiled anime film series released on 36 screens in Japan on February 6. The official website for the Code Geass: Akito the Exiled series today released a first 10-minute of its final fifth chapter "Itoshiki Monotachi e" (To Beloved), which opens in Japan today, February 6. Amazon UK has begun listing the Kaze release of the first two episodes of the Code Geass Akito The Exiled spin-off OVA for March 21, 2016 on Blu-ray and DVD. An English dub is listed along with the Japanese audio. Kaze UK announced the title in October at MCM Comic Con London in October. More after the jump.
The official website for the Code Geass: Akito the Exiled series today updated with a main visual for the upcoming fifth chapter "Itoshiki Monotachi e" (To Beloved), posting its 70-second trailer. According to the latest Oricon report, the fourth chapter of Code Geass: Akito the Exiled, "Nikushimi no Kioku Kara" (From the Memories of Hatred) released in Japan on October 28, takes the top spot in its weekly overall Blu-ray sales chart selling about 19,000 units in its first week.
