Digital comics platform Comixology, which has historically sold issues and volumes of comics, has launched subscription service "Unlimited." Currently limited to the US, for $5.99 a month (with a 30 day limited trial offer), subscribers can use their browser or a Comixology app to "borrow" any of select issues and collections.
In the latest move in the expansion plans for Kodansha's digital English library, the manga publisher has begun offering their releases on the Comixology platform. Over 350 volumes launched today, available for purchase to be read on apps for Amazon Fire tablet, Android, iOS, and the web at comixology.com.
Digital comic seller Comixology has announced that they have pulled 56 comics from their iOS in-app store to comply with the Apple App Store guidelines regarding adult or inappropriate content. Five of these are, mostly yaoi, manga titles from DMP. All these comics can still be purchased from their web store and synched to the app. Details past the jump.
