Japanese publisher Hakusensha is now seeking cosplayers to be featured in the promotional poster for the upcoming 18th volume of Yuki Midorikawa's popular fantasy manga Natsume Yujin-cho, which is scheduled to be released in Japan on September 5. Hit the jump for more information.
This week, respected North American comic publisher Fantagraphics released acclaimed author/animator Dash Shaw’s comic one-shot Cosplay. The 32-page color book, now available at comic shops and digital platforms such as Comixology, follows a pair of teen cosplayers with too much time on their hands and the impulse to make a film with themselves, unsuspecting extras and a hidden camera. A special Moyashimon Exhibit in Kachidoki has been held to celebrate the release of the agriculture/microbiology manga's final volume. As well as offering up manuscripts, the series's award winning author Masayuki Ishikawa spent five hours illustrating a temporary mural on the exhibition's wall. Watch the process after the jump.
As many of you know, Dragon Ball is such an epic series and in Japan, some comedians make their career out of impersonating characters from the franchise. They're called Dragon Ball Geinin (Geinin meaning Comedian in Japanese) and a group of them got together to create a parody of 1999's Japanese Hip Hop classic, Grateful Days by Dragon Ash appropriately titled Battleful Days featuring Vegeta, Yamcha, Piccolo and Frieza.
