This week's Machi ★ Asobi vol.18 offered cosplayers a chance to show off their craft at the Tokushima, Japan event's annual cosplay fashion show. And, a noteworthy overseas fan hit the event. One person taking up the challenge of Hideo Kojima was Palmer Luckey, creator and founder of VR headset maker Oculus (and now a bit of a controversial figure thanks to his political involvement) Palmer Luckey.
It's the Golden Week block of holidays in Japan, which means it's time for events like Nico Nico Chokaigi. One of the fans participating in the geeky festivities was a 6-year-old cosplayer, attending as Kanna from Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid. The only thing cuter was a meeting with a similarly chibi version of her beloved Kaban from Kemono Friends.
In cooperation with Cosplayers Archive, Panasonic, and Mulodo, WCS Inc., the organizers of the World Cosplay Summit competition has officially launched an online cosplay platform named "Cosplayers.Global" that is available in 10 languages: Japanese, English, Chinese (Simplify and Traditional), Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Indonesian, Thai, Russian.
