Following last weekend's Comiket, MANTAN WEB's video channel started posting videos of cosplayers from the event, Also, earlier in the month, with new inclusions of India, the first participating nation from South Asia and Switzerland, representatives for 30 countries gathered in Nagoya to crown the champions of the 2016 World Cosplay Summit, and join the city's annual parade to the Osu Kannon temple. MAiDiGiTV also just added videos of the parade.
Cosplay at Comiket isn't the same as it is at American conventions. Rather than for wandering around, it's for designated areas, with plenty of rules on where to costumes can be worn and where to change. On the other hand, cosplay is still cosplay, and as such , last weekend's event was a display of all sorts of shapes and sizes... including the impressively muscled. More after the jump.
Toko (CV Ai Nonaka) didn't exactly make a good first impression on Japanese PC users. Like their English speaking counterparts, her notifications insisting that they upgrade their OSes didn't exact endear her to local techies. The adjective "unforgivable" seems to get applied a lot. There was also a meme earlier this year involving photoshops of it causing disasters as mecha anime robots prepare to attack. Still, the upgrade notification was the star of this weekend's Comiket 90.

For the first time, the organization did a two-stage event, with semi-finals on Saturday and an eight-team finals on Sunday, leading to Indonesia's representatives being named champion for their Trinity Blood performance, followd by Denmark with The Angel of Elhalmburg and France with Love Live!
The official website of five-member cosplay dance unit ArsMagna today posted a two-minute full trailer for their first starring film The Movie: ArsMagna Kiki Ippatsu (Narrow Escape)! to be released at 12 theaters in Japan for a limited time of one week from September 17. Tokyo-based company Ookaze no Okorusama will open its own cosplay photo studio "Ohkaze Shashinkan @Akiba produced by GAINAX" in Akihabara at 10:00 am on August 2. As the name suggests, the cosplay-oriented studio is supervised by acclaimed anime production company Gainax (Neon Genesis Evangelion, Gurren Lagann). Hit the jump for more details.
