Steve N' Steven, the studio launched by Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex writer/director Kenji Kamiyama to leverage commercial promotion with anime, produces the anime with Love Live's Asako Nishida on character design.
Good Smile Company has listed "Hatsune Miku: Greatest Idol Ver.," a 1/8th scale pre-painted character figure based on the CD jacket illustration of Mitchie M's 1st major album "Greatest Idol" drawn by Yoshiyuki Sadamato, best known as the character designer of the Evangelion franchise. The latest issue of Asahi Shimbun's weekly news magazine AERA, which is just published today on August 24 in Japan, features Rei Ayanami, one of the main heroines of the long-running Evangelion franchise, on its cover. As Neon Genesis Evangelion prepares to celebrate its 20th anniversary, the throwback spirit is being adopted with a two-LP disc release of the soundtrack. Bernie Grundman Mastering handles the analogue version, with mecha animation director Takeshi Honda providing the jacket art. The September 9th release sells for 5000yen. More after the jump.

This fall, Neon Genesis Evangelion marks its 20th anniversary and part of the celebration is an August release of an HD remaster of the original TV series and movies. Two versions are due out in Japan on August 25th at 38,000 Yen for the Blu-rays and 18,000yen for the DVDs, and after a rough look was offered in June, product photos have now gone online.
