Osamu Takahashi's long-running Neon Genesis Evangelion - The Shinji Ikari Raising Project is finally wrapping up after over a decade. Monthly Shonen Ace has announced that the 2005 spin-off will be ending in this year's April issue, out February 26th. More after the jump.

Last weekend, Universal Studios Japan brought back its “Cool Japan” attractions for 2016, including Evangelion The Real 4D:2.0. This was presented along with food and goods including Eva head popcorn, entry plug LCL drink and Angel pork bun in AT field wrappers. Series mech designer Ikuto Yamashita got his hands on the popcorn bucket, and the internet was suitably impressed by the idea of snacking out of the fearsome giant's skull.
This weekend, Universal Studios Japan is launching the sequel to their hit Cool Japan attractions with new editions of their Attack on Titan: The Real, Evangelion: The Read 4D, Biohazard/Resident Evil: The Escape, and Monster Hunter: The Real, joined by a new attraction with pop oddity Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. A social media promotional campaign, contribution to which can be rewarded with tickets, is livened up with new Titan animation and Eva mech design.
While no Rebuild movies were released, or even scheduled in 2015, it was still a big year for Evangelion. The original Neon Genesis TV series celebrated its 20th anniversary, marked with a Blu-ray release, bullet train decorations and more (Universal Studios attraction, crowdfunding attempt to send a Spear of Longinus replica to the moon, Unit 01 colored Shaun the Sheep statue). The year's calendar's also tracked the events of the series, back to June 22, 2015, the date in which, in the first episode, the third Angel attacks and Shinji has to get in the robot! Well, in the series' timeline, December 31, 2015 is Third Impact!
25 years before Ms Kaname, anime's IT Girl Madoka was titular whimsical heroine of Kimagure Orange Road, Madoka Ayukawa. While the once popular character doesn't get many figures these days, Wave's Beach Queen line is doing one their 1/10 scale swimsuit figures in April. She goes for 6,800yen. Get alook after the jump.
In time for New Years,Evangelion bubbly is back! Cuvee Evangelion Rei & Asuka2015 Edition Champagne Brut is being offered to close out the year that marked the TV anime's 20th anniversary. Set to be released December 14th at 32,400yen for a 750ml bottle, the package has an double door box with the Evangelion logo in gold letters, an Eva emblem and the paired heroines etched in glass with Swarovski crystal.

Amazon Japan today posted its top-selling product lists for each category for the 12 months from November 17, 2014 to November 15, 2015. The top-selling anime disc of the year was the 1st Blu-ray volume of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin, while the top-selling manga was the premium edition of the 14th volume of Neon Genesis Evangelion.
