Preview visuals and plans have been laid out for Gatchaman Crowds Insight, the summer 2015 TV anime follow up 2013's Gatchaman Crowds, which reinvented the concept from 1972's Science Ninja Team Gatchaman as part of the celebration of Tatsunoko's 50th anniversary. Director Kenji Nakamura, writer Toshiya Ono and character designer/animation director Yuichi Takahashi are back, long with original character designer Kinaka and suit desingers Koji Nakakita and Kenji Ando. After being teased for months, Nihon TV's official site today finally confirmed that Gatchaman Crowds Insight, the second season of the Gatchaman Crowds TV anime series produced by Tatsunoko Production, is set for 2015. Hit the jump for more.

Japanese anime blogs have picked up a recruitment listing at studio Tatsunoko, known for classics like Speed Racer and recent works like Ping Pong and this season's Psycho Pass 2. According to the job posting, the animation production manager's one to one and half year contract would have the new hire working a 2015 Gatchaman Crowds 2 production. More after the jump.
Since 2011, Tachikawa, located in western Tokyo Metropolis, has been celebrating its status as the "City of Anime." Generally this means that its Autumn Rakuichi notes its role as the inspiration for the Academy City setting of A Certain Magical Index/Scientific Railgun, but this year Raildex seems to be getting a bit of rest as Gatchaman Crowds returns, joined by fellow locally set anime World Conquest Zvezda Plot.
A couple of North American anime distributors have updated their release plans. FUNimation has confirmed that while prequel The Dawn 1 was included with earlier releases of the Hellsing Ultimate OVA, the second and third specials will not be included with the release of Ultimate IX and X. Meanwhile, Right Stuf has confirmed that director's cut version of Gatchaman Crowds will not be included in Sentai Filmwork's release of the series.
Sure to please the series' stationery fiend lead Hajime, a number of Gatchaman Crowds items including a Lamy pen and set with book cover, masking tape, clear case and memo are being offered on NTV's website and events like last weekend's Comiket and the August 31 exhibit in the series home town, Tachikawa. In April, Hobby Japan magazine teamed up with bishoujo figure maker Amakuni to offer a prototype preview of a limited 1/8th, 21cm figure of everyone's favorite Gatchaman Crowds painfully shy exhibitionist Utsutsu.
