The year is 2017. The world is in utter disarray. Chaos reigns supreme, and it's clear now there is only one true solution: Giant robot battles! The time has finally come to pit the United States' team of engineers, MegaBots Inc., against their Japanese rivals at SUidobashi Heavy Industry. The robot-fightin' challenge dates back to 2015, but it took a while to find a suitable venue and properly upgrade the robots, so the actual fight is now going down on Tuesday, October 17.

As reported back in December 2014, acclaimed robot anime director/designer Masami Obari directed a 30-second 2D anime CM featuring giant robots for Ryukyu Ginko (Bank) in Okinawa. The Kuratas KR01 4-meter, 4-ton robot made a giant splash at this July Wonder Festival.
