Japanese newspaper The Asahi Shimbun has announced the 2011 manga works nominated for its annual Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prize. Asahi Shimbun describes the award as "honoring the late Osamu Tezuka, an artist who left an indelible mark on the nation's manga culture." It has been awarded annually since 1997. Influential manga creator Go Nagai (Mazinger Z, Cutie Honey) was among a group of artists and authors who filed the lawsuit against Atago Inc. and Scan X Bank Co. for violations of the Copyright Law. According to the complaint, the companies provided costumers with scans of the authors' work for several hundred yen per copy without permission. More after the jump.
