In order to differentiate to smartphones users, Japan’s largest mobile-phone carrier, NTT Docomo, plans to move further into the content business, and to the killer app in that initiative will be episodes of Gundam anime. Yep, Yoshiyuki "Kill 'Em All" Tomino is at it again yet again. The Gundam creator, known for his brutal treatment of anime characters and brutally honest opinions on the industry (see recent attack on Attack on Titan) is going into his new work, G-Reco, with criticisms of modern voice actors and collaborators on his last Gundam project, 1999's Turn A Gundam. Prior to the upcoming G-Reco, the last TV Gundam directed by series creator Yoshiyuki Tomino was Sunrise's 1999-2000 TV anime∀ Gundam (Turn A Gundam), which brought in futurist Syd Mead, Yoko Kanno and Capcom's Akira Yasuda (also returning for G-Reco). With the series coming to Blu-ray, Yasuda has posted a look at his illustration of the box art, as well as emptying spilling out a lot of his art folders.
