To promote Shogakukan's newly-launched open competition for original web manga works, the 1st Sunday Webry New Face Award, 42-year-old manga artist Kenjiro Hata provided a two-minute fast forward drawing video of Nagi Sanzenin, the female protagonist of his Hayate the Combat Butler series. Hayate the Combat Butler ran October 2004-April 2017 in Weekly Shonen Sunday. Apparently, this wasn't long enough for Kenjiro Hata to develop all the ideas he was considering. Finals volumes 51 and 52 were released this weekend. The limited edition of 51 featured a bonus collection of character secrets. 52 featured a bonus collection of character after stories. One of 51's secrets is getting a lot of attention.

Last fall, volume 46 of Kenjiro Hata's Hayate the Combat Butler offered a very-fanservicey bonus. Tthe limited edition featured a set of "See a Private Place" heat-reveal cards where special regions Athena, Hinagiku and Izumi were revealed by a temperature change from body heat or warm water. On May 18th, volume 48 is being released, and that bonus returns for a second set (Nagi, Chiharu, Sakuya). Get a look after the jump.
Figure makers Orchid, whose releases tend to be fairly ecchi have gone that risque route for a pair of upcoming releases inspired by Hayate The Combat Butler. Sentai Filmworks has announced the license of Hayate the Combat Butler - Heaven is a Place on Earth. The film with a new storyline courtesy of manga author Kenjiro Hata will soon be available through select digital outlets. Dates and details for the home video release version will follow. Along with chapter 500 of Hayate the Combat Butler, Weekly Shonen Sunday, out in Japan July 8th (yeah, Sunday is released on Wednesday) announced that author Kenjirou Hata is preparing to start a new manga that will run alongside Hayate in Sunday. The subject and title will be introduced in August 5th's 36/37 double issue, then the series will launch in September 2nd's issue 40th. It will then run monthly.
