Last weekend, the 15th Machi Asobi anime/manga/game event was held in ufotable's hometown of Tokushima-city. Besides the anime talks and previews, one of the attractions was a gathering of anime-decorated automobiles known as itasha ("cars in pain"), the highlight of which was a Fate/stay night FerrariF430 (a model that debuted in 2004, the same year as the original FSN PC visual novel.) Choei Taxi, taxi company based in Sapporo-city, Hokkaido, famous for its "Ita Taxi" (decorated taxis with anime/game character stickers), has received a ruling of the commencement of bankruptcy proceedings from the Sapporo District Court, Tokyo Shoko Research reported yesterday. The 11th Machi Asobi, the biggest anime/manga/game event on the island of Shikoku, was held in Tokushima-city between October 12 and 14. One of the most popular events at this year's Nico Nico Chokaigi, which was held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture on April 27th and 28th, was "ItaG Fest Shucchou-hen in Nico Nico Chokaigi 2." "Autosalone" is a popular Itasha event in the Tokyo area which was started in August 2007. The 2012 summer event was held at a parking lot of the TOC Ariake convention center in Tokyo, which was very close to Tokyo Big Sight, where Comic Market 82 was also held on the same schedule. A Japanese video game company Kogado Studio began auctioning their official Itasha "Shirokoigo" on the Yahoo! Auctions Japan site on July 17. The car was made for sales promotion for their latest non-adult Yuri game series "White Robe Love Syndrome (白衣性恋愛症候群)". If you want to be the owner of the Itasha, hit the jump!
On June 23 and 24, Hokkaido Japan will be hosting the Toyako Manga Anime Festa 2012 at a hot spring resort famous for being the site of the 2008 G8 summit. In honor of the occasion, and through August, the local Evergreen Taxi service will be running cars coated in colorful itasha wrappers. Get a look after the jump.
