Upcoming event celebrates crowdfunded anime
The historic Kickstarter crowd-funded Kick-Heart anime short is set to be celebrated in a Masked Ballevent at a May 26th screening, featuring live painting by director Masaaki Yuasa, and a musical performance by Oorutaichi at Roppongi's SuperDeluxe bar/gallery. Ahead of the event, and to launch his Youtube channel, Yuasa has shared some crazy animation that he has home brewed for the occasion . Get a look after the jump.

2D anime "Kick-Heart" to tell love story between a pro-wrestler and a nun
Back in October, Masaaki Yuasa, the director of highly praised and unconventional anime such as Tatami Galaxy, along with studio Production I.G, has launched a Kickstarter effort to raise $150,000 to crowd fund production on 2D animated short Kick-Heart. By the end of the month, it topped $200,000 to cover an English dub and an LA premiere sponsored by Titmouse Animation Studios. See where progress stands after the jump.

Desde el estudio Production I.G han anunciado en el evento “Tachikawa Anican x Production I.G Night” celebrado el pasado sábado, que Tatsuhisa Suzuki y Takako Honda serán los seiyuus protagonistas del anime Kick-Heart. En esta historia de amor, Suzuki pondrá voz a un conocido luchador de lucha libre profesional llamado Romeo, mientras que Honda será la responsable de poner voz a Juliet, una monja que vive una doble vida siendo luchadora de lucha libre en secreto.
