Square Enix held a media event for a bunch of its games in New York City this week, so naturally I lined up as much time as I could with anything that included the words "Final" and "Fantasy." Throw a little Kingdom Hearts into the mix and you have enough hands-on time to kill most of the early afternoon. Unfortunately that meant I missed out on playing games like Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age and some of the mobile games, but it was all in the name of throwing on headphones and getting sucked into the future of the franchise.
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue includes a remaster of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, as well as new addition Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -a fragmentary passage- and the cinematic Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover. It was originally set to bridge the gap between KHII and KHIII this December, but Square Enix announced new plans during Sony's Japanese PlayStation Press Conference. Read on for more.
Square Enix is getting ready to release its first collection of more recent Kingdom Hearts games for PlayStation 4, bridging the story to the upcoming, highly-anticipated Kingdom Hearts III. The series already had two remastered compilations on PlayStation 3, though, and according to an interview with GameSpot, Square Enix hasn't ruled out bringing previous games to PlayStation 4.
