Tsutomu Nihei's Knights of Sidonia manga is getting ready to come to an end. The series kicked off in 2009, and its ending is set to run in the November issue of Kodansha's Afternoon magazine, which hits shelves on September 25 in Japan.
Netflix makes its first foray into Asia on September 2nd with the launch of its streaming service in Japan. Content includes its originals, like Marco Polo and Daredevil, as well as the adaptation of Tsutomu Nihei's Knights of Sidonia, which the service previously presented internationally, outside Japan. The anime is being featured prominently in the Japanese rollout, including Ryōta Ōsaka, voice of the lead Nagate Tanikaze.
Kotobukiya is releasing a 1/100 scale plastic model of the Type 17 Garde Tsugumori Custom 2 mecha piloted by Nagate Tanizaki, the protagonist of Tsutomu Nihei's science fiction manga and TV anime, Knights of Sidonia. Hit the jump to check it out.

Teased back in March, Netflix has now announced that the anime adaptation of Knights of Sidonia returns to the streaming service this summer. All 12 episodes of Battle for Planet Nine debut on July 3rd. More after the jump.
Cross Crowdfunding, a platform specialized around limited anime and gaming merhandise produced after raising pledges from fans, has launched a campaign to produce boxer shorts based on Nagate Tanikaze and Izana Shinatose's pilot outfits from Knights of Sidonia. Over the next two months, the project is looking for fans to pledge 3,780yen for the medium or large sized polyester undies, which will ship in August. More after the jump.
To promote their 7th album "One Way" just released today in Japan, two-member unit angela has posted a full music video for their 24th single "Kishi Koushinkyoku" (Knight's March) on their official YouTube channel. Military apparel/military-inspired fashion label Avirex has teamed up with Knights of Sidonia to produce a flight jacket inspired by series lead Nagate Tanikaze, complete with the TS-028 call number ID.
