To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Monkey Punch's Lupin the 3rd manga and its numerous animated adaptations, the 1978 anime theatrical film Lupin the 3rd: The Mystery of Mamo (known in Japan as Lupin vs. The Clone) is getting a limited theatrical re-release in Japan with 4K remastered visuals, a 5.1 digital audio mix, and MX4D gimmicks that will immerse the audience in the world of the gentleman thief. As Monkey Punch's not-go-gentlemanly thief Lupin the Third celebrates its fiftieth anniversary, a fifth TV anime series has been announced. TMS revealed the news at at Paris' Japan expo, with the surely crowd pleasing announcement that the follow-up to the Italy/San Marino-set 2015 blue jacket series will be based in France.

Isetan Shinjuku Store’s seventh floor promotional hall is set to host some high caliber fashion February 3-8 with "Lupin III LUPINISSIMO IN ISETAN 2016." WWD Japan ad Tadashi Harada, who previously presented Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and TerraFormars inspired looks helped recreate Lupin, Zenigata, Jigen and Goemon for the department stores showcase. Chief director of the blue jack TV anime Tomonaga Kazuhide will also be doing talk for the event.
Veteran voice actor Richard Epcar (Ghost in the Shell's Batou, Robotech's Ben Dixon) has alluded to his return to the role of Lupin the Third's Daisuke Jigen in an English dub of LUPIN THE 3rd PART4. Italian groups B.I.C. production and Gruppo Orizzonti announced the production of non profit live-action Lupin the 3rd: The Fan Movie in November 2010 and posted a teaser trailer on the web at the end of January 2011. Lupin the 3rd exhibition - This is the world of Lupin the 3rd- will be held at the EKI Kyoto museum in Kyoto from April 28 to May 29. The exhibition celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Lupin the 3rd anime series. The event will also present an autograph session by the original manga creator Monkey Punch on April 29 & 30.
