The husband of Keinojou Mizutama has announced on their Twitter account that the genre novel artist passed away on Saturday after an extended illness and hospitalization. Mizutama is known to anime fans for contributing character designs the commercial release of Mamare Touno's 2channel serialized fantasy turned light novel, manga and anime Maoyu, as well as character designs for Sunrise' 2000 anime Brigadoon.
A-TOYS, makers of the 1/2 the scale Sonico and Catteya figures are back with another huge figure. A 1/3rd scale 57cmx47cmx44cm MAOYU Demon King figure went on sale today for a hefty 38,800 yen ahead of its February release.
The recent 23rd episode of Log Horizon had an amusing treat for its attentive viewers. In one scene you could see Nyanta and Serara brushing shoulders with what looks a whole lot like palette swapped versions of Demon King from Log Horizon author Mamare Touno's Maoyu and Leafa from alternate virtual world anime Sword Art Online. Sentai Filmworks has announced that they've licensed Maoyu – Archenemy & Hero. They're describing the series as a romantic underworld comedy from the mind of Mamare Touno (Log Horizon), directed by Takeo Takahashi (So I Can’t Play H, Spice and Wolf).
