To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Japanese animation studio Shaft, Inc. presented an art exhibition called "Madogatari" that combines two of their most popular anime properties. The event ran at Tokyo November 27 to December 2, 2015, followed by stops at Osaka December 22-27 then Sapporo February 9-14th at Sapporo Factory Hall, at the tail end of the 67th annual Snow Festival. The visual for the final part of this trilogy has now been revealed.
With the figure now available for order, Aniplex+ has posted the commercial for their 1/8 scale Shinobu Oshino, featuring the character bathing in a tub full of donuts as seen on anime cover art from Nisemonogatarivolume 3, with the "Karen Bee" story. This figure, given a place of honor at the MadoGatari Shaft anniversary exhibit, will ship in fall 2016. Get a look after the jump.
Despite of its relatively small release with 108 theaters, "Tekketsu-hen," the first part of the three-part anime film adaptation of Nisio Isin's Kizumonogatari novel, still ranked 9th in its third weekend box office. Kodansha has posted their 8-bit style commercial for Monogatari "Off Season" novel Wazamonogatari, with an associated special site scheduled to launch January 30th. Meanwhile, Aniplex has turned 20 classic Shinobu screenshots from Bakemonogatari to Kizumonogatari into iPhone cases.

Aniplex of America has confirmed their plans to release the theatrical feature, Kizumonogatari Part 1: Tekketsu in select U.S. theaters starting on February 26th. The first part of the anime feature trilogy of Nisio Isin's Monogatari trilogy will be featured in the original Japanese language with English subtitles and distributed by Azoland Pictures. According to the latest Oricon report, the two-disc "Utamonogatari - Monogatari Series Theme Song Compilation Album" set, released in Japan on January 6, took first place in the weekly album sales chart selling an impressive 66,000 units in its first week. Hit the jump for more details.
Back in 2010, soon after the original run of the Bakemonogatari anime wrapped up, garage kit maker TEIJI brought his 3D recreation of Shinobu Oshino art by Redjuice (later character designer on Guilty Crown and Project Itoh) to figure event Wonder Festival 2010 Summer. Five years later, TEIJI has sculpted a new figure Kizumonogatari, and repainted the earlier figure, which had begun to show its age. Get a look after the jump.
There's plenty going on with Monogatari this week. Not only goes the Kizumonogatari prequel anime movie open January 8th, Utamonogatari -Monogatari- Theme Song Collection was released on the 6th. These were promoted at Akihabara Station with an extensive installation featuring Owarimonogatari's history of the series, a life-sized version of Kizu's cast, and a giant version of Araragi's "idot hair."
