The Bonbori Matsuri is one of many midsummer festivals held in Japan. Held yearly at the Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gū shrine in Kamakura, the shrine is known for displaying lantern art for the festival and this year's contributions include a new message from Evangelion creator Hideaki Anno along with new art from his mangaka wife Moyoco. Award-winning manga author Moyocco Anno (Sugar Sugar Rune, Insufficient Direction, The Diary of Ochibi) turns 44 on March 26th, and she's celebrating online with a special SSR illustration on her personal site, an Insufficient Direction sketch of her gift from Hideaki "Director-kun" Anno, and plenty of social media well wishes. It is officially announced today that a 13-episode TV anime adaptation of Moyoco Anno's autobiographical essay manga Kantoku Fuyuki Todoki is set for April 3 premiere in TV Tokyo's anime support program AniMusu!.
