    Film confirmed at the end of TV broadcast for final episode

    To be performed at Spiral Hall in Tokyo in March 18-29

    The details about the upcoming stage event titled "Yomibutai Mushi-shi," based on Yuki Urushibara's occult detective manga Mushi-shi, has been revealed. The director of the two TV anime series Hiroshi Nagahama provides the original idea for it. Hit the jump for more.

    This past weekend's Otakuthon convention in Québec saw a few new announcements for Crunchyroll, bundled with some further details on previously announced shows.   • Satoshi Mikami Guests in "Mushi-shi - Thicket Path" Anime Special

    Special broadcast August 20th

    Prior to the Mushishi: Zoku-Shō anime's fall return, the series is back for a special adaptation of Tokubetsu-hen: Odoro no Michi (The Thicket Path)on August 20th. Leading into the debut, character designs for Satoshi Mikami's (Samurai Flamenco's Akira Kanno, Japanese dubs for many Benedict Cumberbatch roles) Kumado have been posted along with Ai Kobayashi's returning Tanyu.     "Thicket Path" story will air in August

    The Mushishi: Zoku-Shō anime is ending its spring run and preparing to return in the fall, but it looks like some green shoots will be springing up before October. Along with a new visual, the series' site offers the news that the two-part "Thicket Path," which slipped from this season, will be broadcast in August. More after the jump.

    Hour special airs January 4

    Acclaimed supernatural series Mushi-shi returns to anime in an hour special, scheduled to air January 4th, 2014. Director Hiroshi Nagahama, who mentioned planning a "secret project,"  and character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi return with newcomers Rio Sasaki and Yuuna Watanabe voicing roles.
