It's official: the Resident Evil HD remaster is a big success for Capcom, quickly becoming the company's fastest-selling digital title as well as the biggest day-one title on PlayStation Network. To celebrate and pay some of the love back, producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi is here with a special message to the fans after the jump.
Fans can be pretty amazing. Take programmer Rod Lima, for instance. While his UDK (Unreal Development Kit) take on Resident Evil 2 originally had an over-the-shoulder camera and wasn't intended to cover the whole game, he's since changed it to the classic static camera style and gone through with an impressive recreation. Following their post a look at Universal Studios Japan's Attack on Titan "Cool Japan" attraction, maidigitv has present their looks at the Evangelion 4D experience, which puts visitors on the battlefront of an angel attack via motion theater, complete with wind and water, along with their Resident Evil Real Escape Game and musician HYDE's appearance at the opening. Capcom released a few new videos previewing Resident Evil: Revelations 2, starting with a visit to the sound studio with producer Michiteru Okabe and composers Kota Suzuki and Nima Fakhrara. Hit the jump for that and some enemy previews.
Originally slated for February 17, the first chapter of Resident Evil: Revelations 2 has been hit with an ever so slight delay. In the interest of fine tuning, episode one will now arrive on February 24. See some new videos and more after the jump.
The HD remaster of the GameCube Resident Evil remake is right around the corner, but that might not be the only remastered RE on the way. Capcom updated the Japanese website for the game to show off a special pre-order PlayStation 4 theme, and one of the icons in the second image hints at an upcoming Resident Evil Zero remaster. Capcom is getting ready to kick off the episodic horror of Resident Evil: Revelations 2 on February 17 in North America and February 18 in Europe. While we wait for the first part to arrive, you can dig into the game's opening cinematic after the jump.
In addition to PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC, Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will be coming to Sony's portable. After all four episodes of Resident Evil: Revelations 2 debut, Capcom will be releasing the full game in a retail package. Japan is getting a limited edition version, which includes a 3-CD soundtrack, 64-page concept guide, and two in-game items, all in a special package.
