  • "Saekano" Blu-ray 4th Volume Tops Weekly Sales Chart

    The anime sequel is now in the works

    According to the latest Oricon report, the fourth Blu-ray disc of the TV anime Saenai Hiroin no Sodatekata/Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend, which is based on Fumiaki Maruto's romantic comedy light novel series, took first place in the overall weekly Blu-ray sales chart.   • Amazon Japan Reports Top-Selling Manga/Anime of First Half of 2015

    "Expelled from Paradise" tops the anime DVD/Blu-ray ranking

    Amazon Japan has announced the top-selling lists in each category for the first half of 2015 (from November 17, 2014 to May 17, 2015). The most popular manga volume was the premium limited edition of the last 14th volume of the Neon Genesis Evangelion manga series. Check the top 10 manga/anime lists after the jump.

  • "The Seven Deadly Sins" Tops Manga Sales Ranking for 2015 (First Half)

    "One Piece," "Assassination Classroom" follow, "Attack on Titan" loses its readers

    Oricon has posted the top-selling book lists in each category for the first half of 2015 (from November 17, 2014 to May 17, 2015). Neither One Piece or Attack on Titan, the most popular manga series during the period was Nakaba Suzuki's The Seven Deadly Sins, which sold 7,059,400 copies in total.   • "Love Live!" Unit BiBi's "Fuyu ga Kureta Yokan" Becomes a Gold Disc

    The official Twitter for the Love Live! School Idol Project franchise has reported that the three-member unit BiBi's latest single "Fuyu ga Kureta Yokan" had shipped over 100,000 copies in Japan, and being certified as a gold disc by The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ).   • Japan's 2014 Anime CD Sales Up 4.4% from the Previous Year

    "Love Live!" voice actress unit μ's ranked 16th in the top selling artists

    According to the report by Sound Scan Japan posted yesterday, the total anime/animation CD sales in Japan for year 2014 was 4.4% up from the previous year, more specifically, 14.3% up for albums and 18.6% down for singles. Hit the jump for more details and top 20 artists of 2014.

  • Japan's 2014 Manga Sales Up 1% from the Previous Year

    While the overall book/magazine sales decreased by 4.5%

    According to the recent report by Research Institute for Publications, which is operated by AJPEA (All Japan Magazine and Book Publisher's and Editor's Association), the manga sales in Japan for year 2014 was 1% up from the previous year, while the overall print book/magazine sales was down 4.5%.   • "Kuroko's Basketball" Last Volume Tops Weekly Manga Charts in Japan

    According to the latest Oricon weekly manga sales charts, the last 30th tankobon volume of Tadatoshi Fujimaki's basketball-themed manga Kuroko's Basketball, which was published in Japan on December 4, sold 33,7000 copies in its first week, becoming the top-selling manga of the week.     According to Oricon's latest weekly ranking, the seventh and final volume of Sunrise's popular OVA series Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn tops both DVD and Blu-ray's general sales rankings selling 41,000 DVDs and 118,000 Blu-ray units (limited edition: 100,000/regular edition: 18,000).     13th consecutive volume to sell over 2 million copies

    According to this week's oricon weekly book ranking, volume 62 of the manga One Piece sold approximately another 1,789,000 copies, bringing it to a total of about 2,368,000 copies over 2 weeks. It is the 13th consecutive volume in the series to sell over 2 million copies.
