It's a running gag, mostly seen on book covers, that Sword Art Online's Silica and Lisbeth, and later Leafa, and later Sinon, petition to creators the "More Deban (screen time)." Well, they will be getting some, and that screen's going to be pretty large because, according to an interview with creator Reki Kawahara, the girls, particuarly, Silica, will be featured in anime movie Ordinal Scale.
Aniplex of America has announced that the Yuki Kajiura LIVE featuring Sword Art Online concert, planned for January 14, 2017 at the Dolby Theatre, is cancelled due to visa issues. Wrapping up the week, Aniplex of America announced that they have begun ticket sales for the upcoming nationwide theatrical release of Sword Art Online the Movie -Ordinal Scale- on their official homepage (www.sao-movie.net/us). Aniplex of America along with the film distribution company ELEVEN ARTS, will be kicking off their national release of this animated feature on Thursday, March 9th with a special one-night Fathom Event.
From around the world, a number of Q1 2017 anime have gotten new anime subtitled previews. Aniplus Asia, from Southeast Asia, Aniplus Asia (Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand) has offered translated looks at the Kyoto Animation adaptation of Coolkyoushinja's Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid and Madhouse's adaptation of Natsume Ono's ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept. Then, Australian & New Zealand's Madman offers a look at Sword Art Online movie Ordinal Scale.
Leading into 2017's Ordinal Scale movie, starting from July through December of 2016, Sword Art Online's first fun of anime (Aincrad and Fairy Dance) was rebroadcast late nights on networks such as Tochigi TV, Tokyo MX, Gunma TV, BS11 and Nico Live. Looking forward to the 2017, the Sword Art Online anime team is re-uniting for the Ordinal Scale movie, which opens in Japan February 18, 2017. The North American premiere will take place at the historic Grauman’s Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, California on March 1, 2017. LiSA is back for new theme song "Catch The Moment," the single for which is scheduled for February 15. This is now featured in a third preview.
