Syfy is planning another costume-making competition reality show. This one will be called Cosplay Melee, which will be hosted by Yvette Nicole Brown (Community). The hourlong weekly series will premiere Tuesday, March 21 at 10/9c. The panel of judges includes cosplayer LeeAnna Vamp, and creator Christian Beckman (The Hunger Games). The episode-award is $10,000.
Syfy's prosthetic makeup artist reality show/competition Face Off kicks offs season 6 on January 14, 2014 with a trip to Tokyo for an "anime" inspired challenge in which they will design characters based on their alter-egos. More after the jump.

The work of sci-fi author Philip K. Dick, whose novels and short stories inspired Bladerunner and Total Recall among others, is set to come to life again in an adaptation of 1962's alternate history classic The Man in the High Castle. Syfy is planning a miniseries based of the story of America under German and Japanese control with Bladerunner director Ridley Scott producing. More after the jump.
Bad news in general for the state of anime on cable, as Comcast's SyFy channel appears to be quietly closing the door on their anime programming lineup. The network has removed all references to its anime block and will no longer be airing Star Blazers, its newest acquisition, after June 9.
