Good news for anime fans who still have cable service. Jason DeMarco, VP of strategic marketing for Cartoon Network and Adult Swim, revealed on Twitter that starting next week, the Toonami programming block "expands to 6 hours from midnight-6am, without repeating from 3a-6a." Thundercats "What Lies Above (part 2)" airs Saturday, June 16th at 9:30 a.m. ET/PT on Cartoon Network. It's the conclusion to this season of the Studio 4°C (Tekkon Kinkreet) animated 80's toy/toon revival and given, Cartoon Network's conspicuous silence on where the series might fit into 2013 plans, it's widely assumed that this is also the curtain call for the new Thundercats. In the episode, Lion-O travels into the Book of Omens to live out his ancestor's past as Leo, who led the rebellion against Mumm-Ra millenia ago. In the episode, the Cats must pass a series of obstacles in order to finally get the Book of Omens, but Mumm-Ra is hot on their trail.
