Makoto Yukimura's historical drama manga Vinland Saga is being adapted into a "Super Sound Theater" stage recital that will feature music and vocal performances and that will run from September 30 - October 01, 2017, at the Maihama Ampitheater in Maihama, Urayasu City, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. Kodansha Comics had a couple of announcements to make at this weekend's Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle, Washington. First, after saying that there was uncertainty about whether they'd be continuing Vinland Saga without fan support, they are confirming plans to continue the acclaimed historical Viking manga. Then, they announced plans for an anniversary collection of the classic Akira.
It probably wasn't as big a troll-job as the time Makoto Yukimura's acclaimed vikings manga Vinland Saga teased fans with news that turned out to be a story teaser, but again, the latest hyped announcement has failed to produce the long-anticipated TV anime.
