  • "Hatsune Miku" and "Finder" Take Top Spots in New York Times Manga Best Seller List

    Dominance by "Attack on Titan," "Kingdom Hearts," Sword Art Online" and "One Piece" broken up

    Along with usual suspects liks Attack on Titan (volume 1 was #1 on January 4th and hovering around top, joined by volume 2 of spin-off No Regrets), Kingdom Hearts (KH II volume 3 was #1 on January 11th)  and Sword Art Online (Fairy Dance volume 2 was #1 January 25th) a couple of differant names made it to the top of the New York Times Manga Best Seller list this month.   • Digital Manga Inc. Launches First Yaoi Kickstarter Campaign for "Finder" Series

    The campaign has a goal of $45,000 to restock this six volume series

    Digital Manga Inc. (DMI), a long-time publisher of boy’s love (yaoi) manga, launches for the first time a new Kickstarter campaign for Juné imprint series Finder by Ayano Yamane. The Kickstarter campaign aims to restock the complete Finder series Volumes 1 – 6. More after the jump.

    One-volume work is a follow-up to "No Touching at All"

    DMP's Juné yaoi label has announced the license of Even So, I Will Love You Tenderly (soredemo yasashii koi wo suru) by Kou Yoneda, the one-volume follow-up to No Touching at All, which followed the relationship between a young man his boss, who he first encountered hungover in an elevator.     In Japanese, a short reading of "801" can be reading 8 as "ya," 0 as a western influenced "o" and 1 as "i." So, the "yaoi" numeric sequence has become otaku shorthand for the genre of male romance media and, following that logic, in countries that list the date month-day, August 1st is yaoi day!   • Comixology Pulls Manga Titles from iOS App Sales

    DMP yaoi manga pulled to conform to Apple guidelines

    Digital comic seller Comixology has announced that they have pulled 56 comics from their iOS in-app store to comply with the Apple App Store guidelines regarding adult or inappropriate content. Five of these are, mostly yaoi, manga titles from DMP. All these comics can still be purchased from their web store and synched to the app. Details past the jump.
