Veteran manga artist / character designer / animator Yoshiyuki Sadamoto took to Twitter recently to share a new spin on an old favorite: Nadia, the heroine of the landmark 1990 - 1991 anime TV series Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water. Hit the jump to check it out.
At their Anime Expo panel, Production I.G announced that both original character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto (plus a founding member of Gainax, and character designer on Evangelion, Nadia, .hack, Summer Wars) and theme song/soundtrack rock band The Pillows will be returning for the FLCL sequels. He celebrated the launch of his social media presence with some old rough art and his art for the Mike Furuhata CD of Yukari Yuitsuki music offered at Comiket 88.
The Neon Genesis Evangelion manga by original character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto launched in December 1994, prior to the debut of the anime. Finally, it finished last June, with the 14th and final collection released in November with a booklet of new illustrations and a new 28-page story. With this wrapped up, Sadamoto has told readers that he's returning to one of his other works.
