In my previous synopsis of Sayo Yamamoto’s works, I focused on her major series Michiko and Hatchin, The Woman Called Fujiko Mine, and her evolution from these more feminist works to what might be considered a more fujoshi work. What caught me and a lot of others of guard was how goofy and zany Yuri!! On ICE was. As a corrective to this, I decided to focus on some of the highlights of Yamamoto’s work that are out and out comedic, and use the same kind of rapid fire movement and exaggerated animation that we’ve seen in Yuri!! On ICE!

In autumn 2014, Takarajimasha announced the anime adaptation and at Comiket 87, the first promotional video announcing it was to be adapted by KyoAni was revealed. After maintaining interest in the franchise with a recap film in April 2016, the second season is set to air from October to December 2016. Last year, I wrote a primer on what to expect from Sound! Euphonium. See what to expect in the second season, after the jump!
