Two seasons ago we met Gauche Suede who was on his last delivery before a big promotion.
In the outskirts of Yodaka, the darkest area of Amberground, Gauche is surprised to find that the package is a young boy named Lag Seeing. Lag had been traumatized by his mother's abduction and is due to be delivered to his aunt. In this remote area rife with Gaichuu, Lag and Gauche face a dangerous journey that inspires Lag to become a Letter Bee.
As the first season came to a close, we patiently perched on a giant cliffhanger waiting for the second season to grace us with more action, adventure and moreover - answers. Spring turned into summer, and progressively summer into fall. And just as the manga series resumed, so did the anime.
And at least for us fans, there was finally some light in the darkness of Amberground.
This season, TEGAMI BACHI: Letter Bee season 2 picks up where we left off last season as we learn more about the fate of Lag Seeing, a Letter Bee who delivers heart, and his relation with Gauche Suede, a man who has lost his heart. We will travel with Lag Seeing on the adventures, trials and tribulations he must go through to reach Gauche and his ultimate purpose.
TEGAMI BACHI: Letter Bee season 2 will be aired every Saturday at 9:30 am PDT with premium anime and all access members being able to view this title in high definition and without any ads. Free users will be able to view this one week later.
Sora no Otoshimono - sounds like an innocent name, doesn't it? Literally meaning the thing that has fallen from the sky.
Even the synopsis for the first season sounds like it reflects more of a "slice of life" style of anime. It reads: Tomoki Sakurai, is a pacifist who lives in a small town covered with lush natural surroundings. One day, a young lady falls from the sky, Ikaros, who ends up complicating his life of pacifism.
Nothing there indicates voluptuous women, crazy sexual innuendos and the most important element: flying panties.
We follow this student who is claims to live the life of a pacifist in a small town covered with lush natural surroundings. One day, a young lady falls from the sky, Ikaros, who ends up complicating his life of pacifism. She introduces herself as an android and calls Tomoki "Master" when they meet. She is able to grant his wishes with the strange power she possesses. He wants $1 billion, to be invisible, and to stop time! What is Tomoki's last desire to satisfy a wholesome man's wish? In the mist of the beautiful surroundings, all the characters begin to unfold. This will be a heartwarming comedy that is bound to touch your soul.
Let's just say that after the first series, this particular series did more than touch souls.
However, the creative team for this particular title must have done something right as the second season is in full effect and is looking to become more successful than its predecessor.
Yet after the first season, fans still have a ton of questions.
So, in this season of SORA NO OTOSHIMONO, that crazy girl you know will be joining the beautiful Ikaros and Nymph in falling from the sky! Love, courage, and T&A far surpassing the first season! Will there be new characters? Will the ending songs be oldies again? Will it be serious? And will they be able to animate that one scene from the manga? All will be revealed in Forte!
Sora no Otoshimono Forte will air every Friday at 10:30 am PDT!
As global warming has taken the forefront of many media mediums and discussions, anime is no exception. For as the environment experiences an ever deteriorating rate on a global scale, the submerged rage of those who suffer the most is about to erupt.
Enter: Squid Girl!
Squid Girl is hell-bent on annihilating the mankind before her species is wiped off the surface of the earth, or, to be precise, off the bottom of the ocean. But to those who have never heard of this before, this is not - by any stretch of the imagination - a very serious show. Far from it. What some call silly, some will call this a comedic stroke of genius, neatly wrapped together in three animated shorts per episode on a weekly basis. Seemingly reflective of its original manga roots.
Back in 2007, Weekly Shōnen Champion started publishing this comedic-manga centralizing around our soon-to-be favorite figurative and literal fish out of water. This season we get to see the fully animated version of a show that will make your sides ache with laughter over her crazy antics.
As Squid Girl sets out on her vengeful journey, however, she becomes aware of certain limitations. After destroying a sea wall owned by the Aizawa sisters she has to make money to repay them for the damages done. Watch as she tries to get her land legs situated and all the shenanigans she fall into.
Squid Girl will air every Saturday at 12:30 pm PDT.
After studying at St. Marie's Academy for two years, Ichigo returns to Japan! Ichigo dreams about having her own patissiere with her husband until she is awoken by Vanilla realizing it was only a dream. Ichigo has had such a great two years in Paris and is looking forward to continuing her studies with her team. However, upon arrival in Japan and meeting her former teammates; Kashino, Ando, and Hanabusa she discovers that everyone is following their own dreams which means they are walking on different paths making their separation inevitable.
Ichigo is quite innocent and naive to think that a good thing can last forever but that is probably the quality that most people like about her. She is saddened to learn that Team Ichigo no longer exists but is curious when there is a new student on team A that she has yet to meet.
His name is Johnny McBeal with an over-the-top kind of personality. She met him when she ordered one of each dessert at a patissiere and took a bite out of his creation. Within the first bit, she was able to understand the feelings he wanted to covey in his dessert named “Cowboy”. His good looks definitely don’t hurt with the ladies but he is known to be one of the best at their school which can provide some competition for Ichigo. Even though their relationship is not clear as of yet, he can be a potential threat and love interest for Ichigo.
Ichigo receives a letter from Henri-sensei to meet at a special location as there is apparently an important and urgent challenge. Ichigo is not the only one who was called to this meeting so what could this possibly mean? Will Team Ichigo be reunited again?
Watch it on Saturdays at 4:30pm PDT!
Mecha-based shows have always been a staple of the anime industry.
From classics like Macross to Gundam, to more recent shows like Guren Lagann to Linebarrels of Iron, it's safe to say that the mecha culture is alive and well. With the addition of Super Robot Wars OG: The Inspector this season it will hopefully maintain that trend.
This particular series is the evolution from its predecessors - not just the tactical, role-playing video game - but its 2 anime counterparts, Super Robot Wars OG: The Animation and Super Robot Wars OG: Divine War (with the OG in all three titles meaning: Original Generation for those who are new to the series).
In this particular series, we are taken back to the era known as "New A.D," six months since the DC War, where the Divine Crusaders rose up against the Earth Federation Government, and the "L5 Campaign", against the alien Aerogaters. With many of its central personnel lost in the war, the Earth Federation Government is forced to rebuild, and Brian Midcrid, president of the Unified Colonies, takes the position of its president. During an emergency session of the Federation Diet, he publicly acknowledges the existence of extraterrestials, and reveals the events of the L5 campaign to the masses in what will later come to be called the "Tokyo Declaration". He goes on to state that these aliens pose a serious threat to humanity.
President Midcrid continues, asking for the colonies to unite with earth, and to expand their military forces in a plan called the "Aegis Plan". Under the plan, new weapons are developed, and more mechs are mass produced as the entire planet's defense network is strengthened. But threats still lurk in the shadows. The remnants of Bian Zoldark's "Divine Crusaders". Those within the Federation and its army who plot to turn it into a military dictatorship. And none have yet realized... that the true threats are coming from a world "so close, yet so very far away", and a world of silence...
The planet is being invaded by foes from a parallel world, and from the past.
Aside from it being beautifully animated - which is to be absolutely expected seeing as how the creators are some of the best in their field - this story is jammed pack full of intense actions sequences, busty babes and amazing looking massive machinery that will undoubtedly impress even the most hardened mecha fan.
Just as we've seen mecha anime grow and evolve over the years, this is perhaps the next stage of evolution for this established yet still influential genre.
