Idioms are idioms for a reason. Oftentimes welcomed as mundane and trite, these simple yet poignant phrases do hold a nugget or grain of truth. So, along that train of thought you should "never judge a book by its cover"; or more appropriately in this case "never judge an anime by its description."
That's exactly what a few of you might do with Fortune Arterial, as it is seemingly slice of life style anime based purely off of the description:
April - This is the tenth transfer for Kohei Hasekura, an event to be remembered. His new school Shuchikan Academy is a rather preppy, traditional, Christian place, and what matters is that it's a boarding school. This means that he won't have to be dragged away by his dad and his endless string of job transfers. Kohei has a chance at a settled life that he has always desired. He can take back all the things he left behind and all the things he missed in his transferring days.
Kohei may be happy that he will finally be able to settle in one place without constantly moving but as they say, sometimes, you need to be careful what you wish for. Being transferred to a new school as most of us know means meeting a lot of new people and of course, Shuchikan Academy is not going to have your ordinary students with an uneventful life.
Shuchikan Academy, is on an island named Tamatsu Island off-shore from mainland Japan. Just when he thought life would be uneventful, he discovers that one of the students in the class next door to his is in fact a type of vampire.
Will Kohei actually miss the days when he was being dragged away from school due to his dad’s job transfers?

From the pre-launch buzz throughout the internet and anime world, The World God Only Knows apparently seems to be one of the most highly anticipated shows of this season.
Why this particular show, you ask?
First of all it already has a preexisting fan base.
The World God Only Knows (also known as Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai,or for those who can read Japanese: 神のみぞ知るセカイ) is based off the manga series written and illustrated by Tamiki Wakaki and has been featured in the Weekly Shōnen Sunday magazine since April 9, 2008.
Secondly, the story itself speaks to users in the ever-so enigmatic way that particular anime titles become huge successes while others merely stand in its shadow. Let's not confuse and include this title in the later. The World God Only Knows - at least with its storyline - is not afraid to boast the fact that it does not stand in any shadow, as it independently casts one of its own.
The premise of the story follows Keima, a high school student, is an avid player of romantic simulation games. He is known on the Internet as the "Divine Capturer" for his legendary skills to "capture" any 2D girl in games. In his real school life, Keima is considered nothing but a gloomy geek with thick glasses.
Keima receives an e-mail offering him a contract to "capture" girls. When he accepts it thinking it is an invitation to a game play, a demon from hell nicknamed Elsee shows up. She asks for his cooperation to help her in hunting evil spirits on the run. These spirits hide themselves inside the lonely girls' heart, and Elsee suggests that the only way to force the spirits out is to "capture" their hearts, by making them fall in love and filling up the hollows which the runaway spirits hide in. Just the kind of job for the Devine Capturer!
But don't let a simple synopsis and my words be the tell-all, end-all. Check out the series for yourself to make your own judgments and opinions; and perhaps then you what the buzz has been all about.
Watch The World God Only Knows every Wednesday at 11:30 pm PDT!

"Demon Girl Zakuro," an ongoing favorite in Gentosha Comics's Monthly "Comic Birz," is being adapted into anime form! Watch Lily Hoshino's gorgeous characters in motion!
This story takes place during the Meiji Westernization Movement in an alternate world where humans and spirits coexist as young half-spirit girls team up with army officers to battle against spirits who would do wrong!
These spirits look like ordinary people except for their cat-like ears. Cat-like ears are always a common characteristic in anime to make the characters looks cuter and almost more innocent. But, don’t mess with these spirits because they have powers that one wouldn’t even imagine.
In the first episode, the "Ministry of Spirit Affairs" was established by human and spirit representatives to deal with incidents involving spirits. Army lieutenants Agemaki Kei, Yoshinokazura Riken, and Hanakiri Ganryu have been assigned to Spirit Affairs. However, once they're introduced to their new associates, they discover that these half-spirits, with the exception of having ears on their heads, look like completely normal girls.
Onward with the spirits!
