 As seasons come and go, we welcome and say goodbye to series that capture our hearts and leave us wanting for more. This season, we welcome back four series starting with the fan favorite: Gintama.
In the early 17th century, Japan adopted strict isolation policies and severed almost all ties with foreign countries. In 1853, the US fleet commanded by Admiral Perry forced the doors open, leading to a modernization of the nation's sociopolitical systems and the eventual fall of the Shogunate. The samurai regime ended its life with the imperial restoration in 1868.
 That's what history tells, but in Gintama, that's not what happens. Instead of the US fleet, the country is stormed by spaceships coming from four corners of the universe and soon we see it occupied by extraterrestrials. The Shogunate has become a puppet of alien occupation armies. All samurai have been disarmed and reduced to temp workers with no skills, just trying to make ends meet. Gintama is a story of a handyman named Gintoki, a samurai with no respect for the rules set by the invaders, and ready to take any job to survive. He and his gang, however, are also among the very few who have not forgotten the morals of a swordsman.
So in its sixth season, we expect nothing less for the Odd Jobs crew than non-stop laughs and uniquely unusual Japanese humor, synonymous with the ever-so-popular variety shows across the Pacific.
 Say, that’s not your cup of tea. Well, how about sharing one with Nagi and Hayate on the third season of Hayate no Gotoku – Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You.
Kenjiro Hata, notable for creating Hayate the Combat Butler, revives his popular, fan-favorite series to spotlight Hayate Ayasaki who continues to work alongside Maria at the Nagi Sanzenin’s mansion. However, things take an unexpected turn – as they normally do – when Nagi receives a call from “Area 51” inviting her to the universe but will she accept?
Hayate – well known for emulating and embodying the purest essence of ‘tsundere’ – will be sure to deliver nothing less than that paired with the light-hearted comedy that we’ve come to expect out of this powerhouse franchise.
Then we shift gears to the gorgeous, peerless student council president, Medaka Kurokami, from the second season of Medaka Box.
 Medaka Kurokami, who has just become Sandbox Academy's 98th student council president, sets up a suggestion box as promised in her election campaign. "Your dreams belong to you. Go after them and make them come true yourself. Your worries, however, belong to me. Send them all my way!!" As Medaka solves her fellow students' problems along with her friend since childhood, Zenkichi Hitoyoshi, her suggestion box, nicknamed the Medaka Box, earns great popularity among the students.
But last season, we were challenged with the idea that Medaka would not be back to the Student Council and began to wonder whether or not the Student Council would be able to survive as successfully without her. However, this season Medaka’s come back – at least to Crunchyroll – to entertain us throughout the fall season…and hopefully beyond.
 Finally, we have Ebiten.
Yes, this was not on Crunchyroll before, but rather was streamed on Nico Nico Douga from July 14 to September 15, 2012. While it is not a returning title to Crunchyroll, it IS returning to audiences after its one-shot stint. Fans of the genre and title can rejoice as the AIC classic - written by SCA-ji and illustrated by Kira Inugami – can now be seen in all of its high-definition glory here on Crunchyroll.
Ebiten circulates around Itsuki Noya, who is a new student at Ebisugawa High School interested in astronomy, but mistakenly joins the similarly named Astronomical Club: a club for female otaku with fujoshi interests. Yes, purely set up for moe and ecchi situations, but definitely something to lighten the mood as the weather turns cold.
 
 Now that Crunchyroll's fall lineup is revealed, do you have any favorites to follow this season? With over 30 simulcast titles, there's plenty to choose across a variety of genres.
For those who can't get enough of the pretty boys, Hiiro no Kakera offers plenty of eye candy in the form of five bishie guardians who protect the main character, Tamaki, from supernatural dangers as she fulfills her role of protecting the seal of the ancient sword Onikirimaru.
 Or if a bevy of good-looking guys isn't quite your thing, Ixion Saga DT and Magi amp things up with some good old-fashioned mix of action and adventure.  Ixion Saga DT drops the main character Kon, quite literally, into the world of Mira where he winds up becoming part of a princess' escort after saving her from an attacker. Meanwhile, Magi draws from the ancient influences of the famous Arabian Nights collection of folktales, and stars a young Aladdin and Alibaba as they travel around looking for treasure and adventure with plenty of magic and fighting to boot.
 Those of you who just want to cram as much moe into 2 minutes as possible should check out the antics in the wacky and funny Teekyu, where the four girls in the Kameido High tennis club seem to do almost everything except actually play tennis.
 Hopeless romantics can get ready for an emotional ride with Say "I love you" this season, which offers a serious and realistic take on the typical high school romance. When friendless Mei accidentally injures Yamato, the most popular boy in school, she suddenly finds herself the object of his affection, along with opening herself up to others. Don't miss the shoujo hit of this season!
We've got some new kids on the block here at Crunchyroll and they are some major heavy hitters. Coveting the attention by many and garnering the adoration of all, these shows are tearing it up so far this season. And if you don't know about them, then you need to check them out now before you're left behind in a trail of their dust.
 BTOOOM
The weapons available in this game, which has sold over three million copies worldwide, do not include guns - only bombs called BIMs. The player locates enemies on a radar and strategically launches one of eight types of BIMs to blow the enemy away. That's all one needs to do to win. Sakamoto Ryota still has no job at age 22, and leads a rather dull life. But in the online game, BTOOOM!, he's stronger and more highly respected than anyone else. However, the game he's playing now is no longer virtual, but real. He's been sent to a deserted island with only a BIM supply and no clue why he's being coerced into fighting and killing. The players are now stuck in a real life version of BTOOOM!, not even knowing the reason why. The hunger to survive, the loss of morality, the madness that corrodes their minds, the intensely growing desires... it all blends together, only to be crushed to dust as the curtain rises on this explosive killing game.
 GIRLZ UND PANZER
A powerful tank battle has been created by an enviable staff, cute girl characters and 3DCGI! The world has evolved into something different from Japan as we know it. Traditional Japanese girls are expected to have "tank skills" as well as flower arrangement and tea ceremony skills, and every school has a "tank club".
 FROM THE NEW WORLD
Five children living in the future are the protagonists. The story begins when they are 12 years old and starting their lives at an advanced school to learn the ‘cursed power’ of telekinesis.
 BLAST OF TEMPEST
The Kusaribe family is a family of sorcerers under the protection of the ‘Tree of Origins.’ Their princess, Hakaze Kusaribe, was the greatest sorceress of their family. But Samon Kusaribe, a member of their family seeking to resurrect the ‘Tree of World's End,’ a tree that opposes the ‘Tree of Origins’ and controls the power of destruction, stuffs her into a barrel, and banishes her to a deserted island. From the deserted island, she sends a message out to sea, which is picked up by Mahiro Fuwa, a young boy who's sworn vengeance upon the criminal who killed his little sister, Aika. Mahiro agrees to help Hakaze under the condition that she find Aika's killer with her magic. But once Mahiro's best friend and Aika's lover, Yoshino Takigawa is rescued from danger, he too, gets dragged into this tale of revenge.
 PET GIRL OF SAKURASOU
Sorata Kanda, a high school sophomore living in Sakurasou, the den of their academy's problem children, spends his days being dragged around by the strange residents, swearing he's going to escape Sakurasou one day. One day, Mashiro Shiina, a cute, innocent girl who's also a world-famous artist, moves into the dorm. Sorata thought he needed to protect Mashiro from the strange people living in the dorm, but she had her own incredible secret—she's bankrupt of the ability to live on her own! She gets lost whenever she goes outside, her room is a constant mess, and she can't even pick out her own underwear, let alone put them on. Sorata winds up appointed as her “owner” by the other dorm students, and so the “master and pet” life between average boy, Sorata, and brilliant girl Mashiro begins…? This story is a romantic comedy of youth told by a brilliant girl, an average man, and other eccentric people.
 MY LITTLE MONSTER
Impassive girl meets trouble maker in a brand new love story! After Mizutani Shizuku, a girl whose sole interest is studying, is asked to deliver some handouts to Yoshida Haru, a boy who hasn't come to school after spilling blood on the first day, she finds herself the target of his affection. This is a story about a boy and a girl who struggle with love and friendship. Opening yourself up to other people forces you to be honest with yourself.
