One of the Best doramas ever.
I have seen the entire animation series, and although they differ slightly from the dorama and dorama movies it is not as blatant as other series like... death note for example. This dorama was very very well produced, excellently cast, the actors really make the characters come to life from the original series. Esp Nodame and Chiaki. And overal stays in the focus of the theme. It focuses on the ...

    Excellent and Fun!!!
Nodame Cantabile is my all-time favorite anime series (me being a music geek and all). So I was excited that Crunchyroll picked up the live action series in lieu of no one licensing the animated series. I was also a little skeptical as I didn't really know how well the physical gags and the eccentric characters would come off.

Despite my initial skepticism, everything about this version is well ...

Madcap Musical fun darn I needed an M there at the end
I remember they put the drama here including the specials on crunchy loooong ago. It was so good back then and good now. Every character seems to have a major trauma they deal with trough music, specially Megumi Noda "Nodame"(Juri Ueno), or bebe chan, is a garbage piling, slob, and seems to be an idiot savant. Her talent was cut short over an abusive teacher yet she still played. She has this ...

  • Reminded Me How Good Classical Music Is
Like many I suffered through classical piano lessons as a kid and switched my interest to other genres in adolescence. But this show reminded me how good classical music can be, and how for the talented few it can become a life.

I'm not familiar with the manga, but the drama is excellent. It's clear to me the people behind the show love music, and didn't skimp when it came to accurately ...

  • Really Great Show!!!
I haven't seen the anime or read the manga, but both were highly recommended. I started with this and have no been disappointed. It was a really amazing show, full of beautiful music, rich characters, comedy, and just enough seriousness to tie it all together wonderfully. Also, I have to give the actor who played Chiaki props; he was absolutely outstanding. His emotion felt so genuine. Dramas ...

  • Love it love it love it
One of my favourite live action animes. In fact, this was my first introduction to anime, and it gave me a good impression. I like the humor and story in it.

It also introduced some very good classical music, which I am grateful for, because without this show I would've missed some great pieces!

  • Music, humor, non-cheesy romance, a dash of drama...
I first watched this series not long after it came out in Japan--like, almost a decade ago?! omg I'm so old. It's still is one of my favorite shows. The characters are unforgettable, the music is fantastic, and I absolutely love how they incorporate the humor visually. Thanks for making it available, Crunchyroll!

This show was so much fun to watch, as soon as I finished the last episode I was on amazon to buy the sequel and the 2 movies that followed. I can't wait to see what happens next!

The performances were splendid and the actors really look like they're playing their respective instruments. If you're anything like me with anime/jdorama cute couples you'll be on the edge of your seat eagerly ...

  • Live action is a great hilarious adaptation
I remember when this came out years ago. It is an amazingly funny adaptation of the anime into a live action. Sure you can tell not everyone is actually able to play their instruments. It doesnt matter. The comedy is top notch and you cant beat Naoto Takenaka in a damn wig pretending to be British.

    A must watch!
