  • Perfect balance between feel-good and good-natured humor
As a feel-good anime, this anime's plot is very easy to follow and very pleasant to watch. If you're watching a fast-paced or intense show, this is the perfect series for one who wishes to balance out the intensity and wind down when the action or horror titles have yet to update.

Being set in the farthest backwood country area that Japan can offer, these four girls and their families all ...

  • Cheerful, Heartwarming, and Hilarious!
Non Non Biyori is probably one of the greatest slice-of-life comedy anime I've ever seen. All of characters are great (even the older brother who never speaks) and Renge steals the show every time. One of the things that makes this series so great are the varying character personalities and the bonds of friendship they have together. One of funniest aspects of the show is Renge, the ultra mature ...

  • Beautiful and amazing
This series almost instantly made it to my all time top 10 favorite anime. The background art is probably the most beautiful I've ever seen in an anime series. The purposefully relaxed and slow moving atmosphere of the show's start draws you in and delivers a sense of peace and placement in that time and environment. There is much to love here - the characters and the art design, the humor and ...

  • A simpler life for simpler people
Slice of life at it's finest. Where each episode doesn't really have a major point. There are no emotional conflicts, there are no fight scenes, there are no zombies, mechs, aliens, or anything else like that. It's just a group of girls out in the country enjoying school life and summer in a small town with a new friend. It's very refreshing and relaxing to sit down and watch this show especially ...

  • It's funky, but you might love it.
Cute, funny, lovable. It's nice every once and a while to take a break from all the mahō shōjo and mecha, and enjoy something a bit closer to real life.

The characters are great, and every episode is a laugh riot filled with feels. Ren-chon, in particular is a real hoot. From her opening nyan-passu, to her later lines about outer space cat's cradle or the soul of an artist, you grow to ...

  • They had me at "Nyanpasu"
Non Non Biyori is a shining example of the slice-of-life genre. The beautiful scenery, heart-warming character interaction, and delightfully silly puns made me into an instant-fan. I've taken to watching this show as I wind down for the evening, it puts me in a relaxed and pleasant state of mind. There is practically no violence or sexual innuendo, I would approve of this title for all ages to ...

    Minimal "Fan service"
I'm only so far in but wow... it's so refreshing to see such an adorable, heart-warming, and funny anime that doesn't resort to "fan-service" or lewd humor. So many other pluses to it just feeling like a good show. (Nice to see this after wishing for something to fill the void that Azumanga Daioh left in my heart - which had its "fan-service"-y moments... but it was also my favorite slice-of-life ...

This is how we lived as little kids.
This is exactly how we lived as little kids. Constantly "faffing about" when left on our own.
This is a great anime to watch before bed. It is warm, happy and comfortable.
