Harem with a hint of taboo
At its heart, this is a little more then a harem comedy with the "twist" that one of the girls is his sister.

For the most part, this is handled in a surprisingly decent way; one can even argue that, for the two seasons, the "sister love" angle serves as a philosophical means of making the viewer think about what love actually means. We all have many loves in lives: family, friends, casual ...

Smart and Emotional Series. Easy to Support
Honestly love this show. If any book should not be judged by the cover, it is Oreimo. Ore no imouto ga konnani kawaii wake ga nai ( 俺の妹がこんなに可愛いわけがない ) there is no point in describing this show. All you need to know is that is a slice of life show that focusses on an older brother trying to provide sound council to his younger sister for her otaku hobbies she has kept secret. It did not take me ...

Amazing anime, best in a long long time.
An amazing anime with a very horribly terribly horrendously bad ending. But an amazing anime none the less. The series tells an accurate and heartfelt story about a topic very common in real life but too taboo due to what religion has warped society into. Oh also the ending was complete garbage. Did I mention the ending sucked?

  • Pretty good, such an upset though
The show overall has an interesting storyline. A brother and his otaku sister become re-acquainted after years of not talking, alright cool. The character progression is in depth and honestly you get a feel for almost all of them in the series. Why not give this 5 stars you might ask? The ending. The ending is too predictable and downright upsetting. Get ready for some teasing because you never ...

    Mass Effect the Anime
Alright why is this Mass effect the Anime? Well as you might imagine It's pretty damn good until the ending, which runs the whole series, its rushed, makes no sense and just sucks. The rest of the series provides interesting commentary into the otaku culture. It questions societies judgement and begs the question; how much can society's laws rule us? I had a lot of fun with the anime. I was ...

A peculiar anime that explores new grounds
Although this anime may have left many viewers furious with its final outcome. I must verbally defend this anime's innocence by presenting evidence that portrays the true intentions of this anime along with it's light novel. This anime, in it's own right, resides in something that one might call "taboo" ( I refuse to spoil anything so i will remain ambiguous in my words), yet at the same time ...

    There's More Here Than Romance
I will avoid spoilers, although doing so will make this difficult.

Oreimo has a lot going on. If you have a background in psychology or are otherwise empathetic then you'll be able to spot it fairly quickly. The stories of these characters are actually quite tragic, but never once does the series fail to come across as innocent or fun. Yes, even later in the series.

There's just so much more ...

A gradual change that takes it from a five star series.
I watched the first season and left every episode giddy, but the giddiness faded leaving me sad in the end. There is almost nothing unlikable about the first season and early episodes of the second season. All the characters are at least reasonably likable with there own kinks, even if some of the logic is a bit strange. The art is expressive, defining every character/situation very well, and ...
