Hong Kong is a vibrant city chock-full of people — so much so that the quality of life for those at the bottom tier is atrocious. And I’m not talking about, “Oh my goodness, I have to share a bathroom with my brother and sister.” I’m talking about up to 18 strangers being smashed into a tiny 625 square foot flat with just one toilet to share.

look. it's only "cage" style, cuz Hong Kong is crazy hot especially in the summer, so they use wires and not bug-chewable wood. HK government already builds thousands of huge apartments and sell them at almost base price.

well they are in no way lucky but, it could be much worst, the landlord said it himself if they were not living in those cage homes they would be living out in the streets(at least a few of them have tv's for entertainment right)

wow, i thought i was suffering without a jobs with a lot of bills to pay and pay my own college tution...i live with my parents so i feel lucky. on the other hand, i could not imagine 19 people living in a place with 2 restroom.

Not all people in Hong Kong live like that since I've went to Hong Kong before and visit my dad friend there. This is a place where poor people live in Hong Kong and because the rent is low.
