It looks much more like a younger picture of them, vs an older picture of the same women. You can tell it's the same woman. But they look older and more wrinkly.

this is the reason y u dont put too much make up it hinders the face when u take it off Girls should put makeup on once a while not everyday but well tahts wat i think

    cinnamon_bunny
LOL, wow. i was shocked. but lighting does play a big part. and are they photoshopped at all? the cheeks of a few of the girls are so much larger. maybe thats the illusion of the makeup, but it doesn't seem like it

I didnt want to believe it!!! But they have the same nose lips and eyes hair so it musst be true how sad

click on the link to see more, it's not that crunchroll supports it, they just took it from the another stereotypical blog site. anyway, lol theses are mostly aunties trying to look in their 20's-30's.

    Kaze_no_Kae
Yinfire: Who the fuck are you to decide what's pretty and what's not? (and no, we don't need to watch makeover shows, we'd rather retain our time and our sanity)

I think that's kinda offensive...saying that chinese people look bad without make up. Not all do.
  • 11/2/10
    HostessCherri
the second one doesn't look that bad, right?
  • 11/1/10

i agree with Abysslulu. Old women can not be considered as girls.
  • 11/1/10
    Abysslulu
how do u know if their chinese anyways? stereotypes that assumes people who look like this are Chinese, very discriminative.
  • 11/1/10
    Abysslulu
this is hardly "girls", if crunchyroll insists putting on pictures of old people and calling them girls it shud seriously rethink the quality of their posts.

Okay, so make-up enhances their beauty a lot apparently. Look, I'm a Chinese (American), but still full Chinese and I don't look that much different with or without make-up. It's all about a natural look, and not trying to go crazy...
  • 10/31/10
    HelloGoodby
Look at the lighting ,it helps a lot on `after` photos ... btw make-up was invented to improve women beauty so yeah...
  • 10/31/10
    kat_37
u can tell the difference, although the third one had too much blush- that's just me though
  • 10/31/10
    autumnanime
its amazing what the right makeup and lighting can do to your image... personally i think its better not to go overboard with makeup all the time
  • 10/31/10
    DarkNekoHime-Chan
Whoa the 1st and 3rd ones are major differences! They all are :O As other people have said though, the lighting does have an effect!
  • 10/31/10
    ily_zero
lol! r they even the same people? and lighting does play a HUGE part.
  • 10/30/10
    kaito_x
That last one. They pretty girl is genuine. That ugly one is a dude.

so true, i remember when i met my cousin for the first time in 2 years and her face didnt change at all. but she didnt need makeup. she used skin care products. same thing with my mom, shes 42 and looks 35.

Well, what can i say, it just proves that these Chinese women really knows how to do their face expertly. I envy them. I keep on buying make-up but i don't even know how to use them properly! >.<
  • 10/30/10
    Luo1122
wwooaaah XD lol i think these are rather extreme examples, but yeah its true once you use makeup properly u usually never turn back
  • 10/30/10
    cheongandy
I agree with you SoulLights.. I still believes girls are more pretty w/o makeups and this kind of comparison probably used by makeup company to get you girls to buy their products!
  • 10/30/10
    SeoulLights
Wow writer, why is it specifically labeled as 'Chinese Girls'? Some 'Chinese Girls' look really pretty without make up.
  • 10/30/10
    virusking70
they still look pretty without make up ,makes no difference to me .
  • 10/30/10
    kittykyo
    talk about huge differences....
  • 10/30/10
    Blazingluke
Don't forget that lighting plays a big part too.
  • 10/30/10
    Ayatorres
I think they all look good in both make up or not make up. Still look better than guys when they wake up ^^ But if you put a picture side to side sure will give a visual impact.

see this is why you go to her home at 7:30 in the morning . it save the disappoint of find out after being married... that is if your that type person and fail to see what is really under all that make up...

It's very interesting to see the power of make-up. These women pre-make-up look real. Normal. They're unflattering images, but the make-up, lighting and camera angles are only accentuating what is already there.
  • 10/30/10
    yinfire
All of you need to watch make over shows. They take the ugliest lookin girls in the world and make them EXTREMELY beautiful. THAT'S the power of make up.
  • 10/30/10
    yinfire
Wow! That's the power of make-up. These pictures are real. They do have the same facial structure. and have you even SEEN make over shows and how so many ppl look dramatically different?
  • 10/30/10
    Koga1211
*Points to his post below* Referring to which ones look real and which ones look fake for shock factor.
  • 10/30/10
    Koga1211
I agree that it that some of the pictures don't look related. Especially the fourth one down, make up may make a woman look younger sometimes but thats ridiculous. 2nd ones fine 1st one is questionable and 3rd and 5th are acceptable.
  • 10/30/10
    dree74
Why is everyone so offended? Really think about it. Are they all Chinese? Apparently yes. Are they all showing before and after pics with and without makeup? Yes. Ok then. The title is factual. It is exactly what it says it is. :-)
  • 10/30/10
    xhuizini
wow, now I know the true wonder and magic of make-up....
  • 10/30/10
    arjela
That's just very rude. How could people judge their actual faces as ugly? Or at least portray them as ugly people.. if that was made by an asian, shame on him!! Please do not be dictated by the western standards of beauty..
  • 10/29/10
    lnwolf41
The sad thing about these before and after is that they take the worts and best poses to give contrast. only 2 really look like the same person. To give a true contrast they should take pictures of the exact same pose,

    amaterasulight
Also, I agree with X_LoveHolic_X. There is definitely no need to specifically label these pictures Chinese or any other nationality. I suggest that crunchyroll think about what people they could offend by posting these types of photos.
  • 10/29/10
    amaterasulight
I find these pictures offensive. And I think they are sending the wrong message: that girls need to wear make up in order to look pretty. I know a lot of girls, Asians, Caucasian, etc that do not wear make up and look amazing.
  • 10/29/10
    Kaze_no_Kae
I can see where Erin's coming from but it looks like it could just be cos of differences in the lighting
  • 10/29/10
    Kaze_no_Kae
Not that it's relevant, but I don't actually think the 2nd girl is unattractive in either picture, and I could imagine the 3rd being fairly pretty with her hair down too
  • 10/29/10
    Kaze_no_Kae
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, the apparently undisputedly positive effect on the looks of the wearer is subjective and based purely on traditional ideas promoted by the media of what constitutes 'beauty'.
  • 10/29/10
    Kaze_no_Kae
wtf, is this supposed to be making a racist point, or a point about makeup (in which case it's not really relevant that they're Chinese)?
  • 10/29/10
    erinchan06
I'm sorry but I can't see some of the before and after pictures as being the same people. Not just beauty-wise, but facial structure-wise...
