Some of the odd memes that Nico Nico Douga tends to produce have strangely American origins. For instance, on Goldeneye for the N64 there is a glitch where tilting the cartridge during gameplay would cause all the in-game models to suddenly spazz out midair in an unnatural, but somewhat funny manner.
This spastic midair twitching had caught the attention of several Nico Nico Douga users as an impossibly hilarious dance and thus matched it to a Spanish sounding song called “Promise” by Kohmi Hirose. The result was this:
Unlike most dancing memes such as Caramelldansen, this is one meme that is IMPOSSIBLE to perform in real time. However, that doesn’t stop the nerds from trying.
