Though by now most of you have already seen this rather old video, it has come to my attention that some of you out there are unaware of just how good we got it when Sailor Moon was dubbed and sugarcoated for us American fans. Not to say that what we got in the end was a quality adaptation, but suffice to say we could’ve gotten much, MUCH worse.
Taped at AX 1998, this footage shows a pilot for a completely American adaptation of Sailor Moon, courtesy of the now defunct Toon Makers Inc. (Not Saban, contrary to popular belief). It has 100% American animation, drastically redesigned Sailor Scouts, and live action dancing.
You think I’m kidding?
Free brain bleach will be offered to all of you Sailor Moon fans that haven’t seen this yet.
