    rewrite -- A promotional anime.
(Look to the bottom if you are interested in hearing what I have to say on 2nd season.)

Rewrite is an anime adapted from a visual novel created by Key, the company known for other giant VNs such as Clannad, Kannon, Little Busters!, Air etc (most of which were animated by Kyoto-animation). They've also produced a few anime in the past years in the form of Angel Beats! and Charlotte. The main ...

They need to rewrite the story
Rewrite was a hodgepodge of several genres that just didn't mix well.

For starters, several characters in the main cast aren't explained at all. Not just that, but even the characters that are explained, have very silly reasoning for doing what they do throughout the story.

So if the characters are all flat and unexplained then perhaps the setting is really cool or it's a comedy ...

Everything Right and Wrong about Rewrite (the Anime)!
There are now edits to reflect off of the anime's end!

I held off on writing a review for the series until I could reach an unbiased conclusion for this anime adaptation to this visual novel. And now that the anime has completed the MOON story in its second season, it's about time to lay down the law.

Rewrite (the Anime) is a perfect example of what can happen when the starting ...

    This show is kinda awful.
I'm giving this one star. It's really not that great.

Pretty sure it's based on a manga, light novel, or some kind of book.. Or SOMETHING else. Because, my god, the pacing for the 13 episodes they have is absolute garbage.

The pacing is bad from start to finish. A bunch of things happen at the beginning that have you intrigued but they never really elaborate on anything until roughly the ...

Key, Disappointing, and it Shouldn't be.
After the major Success of Clannad and decent success of Angel Beats; Key goes in for another "How much can we stuff into 13 episodes" anime which has Comedy, Drama, and Action all wrapped up with a branching story and multiple possible endings! The same fate that made Angel Beats fall on my list and absolutely destroyed Charlotte hits this anime as well.

Key is quickly taking shape to be the ...

    Better than reviews suggest
I wasn't expecting much from this anime given reviews, but I found it surprisingly well-made and on par with most anime. The first episode is all over the place, but after that the story and pacing are solid. Fairly standard harem and plot similar to Tomodachi ga sukunai. Nothing groundbreaking, but a solid anime worth a watch. Of note, the main character is voiced by Kurosaki Ichigo's voice actor.

The supernaturalism of the teenage years
This reviewer has watched up to and including episode five and has not seen the visual novel it is based upon.

Visual novels rarely make good transitions to anime. To suddenly communicate a whole multifaceted supernatural world and large number of characters in a mere twenty minutes is extremely difficult. Failing to do this leaves the first episode feeling like a broken fragment. Rewrite has ...

    MY REVIEW OF REWRITE
Though at the time of this review I have never played the VN and the show has 9 episodes out.

I personally enjoyed this anime. The characters were fun to watch and the voice acting was well done. The music is beautiful as I do like the opening and ending themes. The art well not the greatest is actually very good.

The story at first might be confusing but it is explained later on as the ...
