  • Not actually an anime... It's really good though.
RWBY was made in America by an American production crew for American audiences. Anime is made in Japan by Japanese production studios for Japanese audiences.

You can't just use an Asian animation style and slap the word "anime" on it. Korea has aeni (pronounced Annie) and China has manhua anime/dònghuà, whatever you call it. If you looked at Tai Chi Chasers and Bakugan together ...

  • RWBY is only getting better from here
Not a conventional choice, I know, the animation style takes a slight adjustment period. However, the fight scenes make you forget that quickly. As the seasons progress, episodes get longer, better, and the animation quality skyrockets. After the escalation this show took in Season 3, I am hooked. Looking forward to where this quirky, amazingly gun crazy show will go.

  • trojan horse brilliance out of a low budget
(Review as of the end of season 3)

Do yourself a favor and watch more than one or two episodes before you dismiss this one.

Animation: People often criticize RWBY for it's animation, and while it is rough in places and definitely atypical compared to popular Japanese anime and American animated shows, keep in mind that it's amazing for such a low budget, the rough parts get smoothed out some ...

  • Unusual art style, awesome story
I have been hesitant to watch it at first, since the art was looking so unfamiliar. Also I am not a fan of short episodes. But since I heard about it all over I gave it a try and was instantly captivated and couldn't stop watching all the available episodes.

I can only really recommend it, if you like the theme and are not offended by the low graphic quality of the first season (animation ...

A Solid Anime That Improves Over Its Seasons
This review for RWBY is split into what I consider RWBY's important elements: plot, animation quality, soundtrack, and characters. It will be spoiler-free.

Plot: RWBY's plot is interesting, but nothing ground-breaking. The first episode opens up with enough mystery and intrigue to keep you watching with a few memorable moments. The majority of the story takes place at ...

  • The low budget of this anime gives it a more personal feel;
The low budget of this anime makes it feel like a more personal experience, it doesn't feel like something churned out by a huge company (mainly because it isn't) but instead feels like something special, unique and different. I would recommend this anime to anyone who doesn't mind something rough around the edges, created in America and mainly CGI.

    Don't judge it too soon
This is the kind of series that makes its lemons into really, really good lemonade. The budget is pretty low at the beginning and so at first the animation isn't exactly Bones class material (that gets loads better every season), but boy do they use what they do have to its best capacity. Despite its technical shortcomings, they do so many things right that even many beautifully polished anime ...

    When will the cliches stop.
The voice acting is sub-par, the visuals are terrible, all the characters are one dimensional cliches. This show is pretty much everything I don't like about anime rolled into a ball and thrown into a show. The only redeeming thing about the show is the amazing opening.

    Definitely not worth watching.
