  • No character development.
The show had no character development but good animation. Tanya is the same character she was in episode twelve she was in episode one. It is beyond frustrating. My full thoughts are here: http://www.monkeysfightingrobots.com/the-saga-of-tanya-the-evil-haunts-me/.

  • Sleeper quality show
I'm not a fan of magical girl anything, or of children's shows, so I only actually watched the first episode - Devil of the Rhine - out of mild curiosity about the title and apparent little-girl anti-hero. It was pretty ok, and certainly not any "magical girl" thing. I liked the setting - WWI battlefield with some special soldiers using magical abilities to fight on the front lines - so I watched ...

    Interesting, but predictable
This show is a very interesting one, and unlike a lot of garbage out there, respects itself as an artform. It will not try to appeal to the lowest form of anime fans by putting any fanservice in its story.

The plot is very original, as it follows the story of a man who was killed by a vengeful employee he just fired, is reincarnated as a magical little orphan girl by a god like being called ...

  • If you enjoy an interesting story and some gritty action this is for you
Gritty action has always been my favorite genre of anime and I've seen my fair share of great ones and forced myself through a few episodes of some bad ones.
This one definitely didn't let me down and was by far my favorite from this season. it kept up a solid pace through-out and had my friends and I pumped for every upcoming episode. Would highly recommend this to action lovers

A very good, unique series, although maybe not for everyone
This series is not an easy one to explain, but other reviews already described the main idea: a stand-off between a career-driven psychopath and a morally dubious god, "Being X", whose only priority is to make people worship him. All in an alternative WW1 setting, created by the said god for sole purpose of enforcing faith through misery and hate for the enemy.

The main character is despicable, ...

  • one of the winters best
So out of the winter line up this was one of my favorites, the perfect mix of action syfy and comdey... well not alot of the comedy in it but enough to lighten the mood in parts and make the overall veiwing of the show alot more easy to watch and not to dark.

  • Different is Good. Very well done.
I was hooked from the first episode. Yes, there is a loli protagonist, Yes she is yandere (well... non traditionally) But folks, you have GOT to watch this. It is NOT what you are expecting. And I read about people shunning this anime because they think it paints the WWII Germans\Nazi's in a good light? I say to them, stop being shallow and judgmental. If you watch a few more episodes you ...

  • Excellent Alt History Anime
Saga of Tanya the Evil is an excellent alt history anime, I give it utmost praise for its use of philosophical ponderings and real world parallels; this is so well constructed it's a great crash course lesson in history and ethics, even if it is a little fast and loose. If you enjoy WWI/II themes then this really hits the sweetspot and I highly recommend you watch this.

    Good concept brilliantly realized
First off, I don't know the manga, so I don't see any "screw ups". The way the story is told and the way the different concepts are introduced is very much to my liking and the only minor flaw is the art style of some select characters.

Just saw 6 episodes in a row and could hardly make myself stop, since I have to get up early. Tomorrow the rest.

    Amazing, just freaking amazing
I have seen many anime, but this one stands out. The intensity presented is amazingly and beautifully fit into the story, one person's struggle against a God that didn't realize what it got it's self into. Great look into the pain of war, the lies your tell your self and the dead logic behind it all.
